I stretched my hand to him but he ignored my outstretched hand, as he knocked me out. My head hurts as I stirred awake, but no matter how hard I tried to open my eyes I couldn't. I tried to raise my hand to touch my eyes but to no avail. I kept trying but I was unable to move a muscle. My body shuddered as I remembered what had transpired before. I heard footsteps, the sound of door opening soon followed. I stopped trying to move as the footstep stopped in front of me. “It’s time to say goodbye to the world. Only with your death will I be able to rule this pack, you should go on your way now” I heard a voice which I instantly recognized as Dawson's.

Now, looking at his biological son—the dyed-red-haired delinquent standing in front of him—Victor was stunned. I wasn’t about to let him off easily. I didn’t relax until both sides came back from the DNA testing center with the results. Bad genes should stay together. My parents were shocked and speechless. The heavy deadbolt on the mahogany door suddenly clicked open with a loud metallic snap.

"If you hadn't taken my car to drive drunk, my camera wouldn't have caught anything. You reap what you sow, Brenda." Losing her mind, Brenda lunged forward to strike me. One of the officers caught her arm and yanked her back. "This isn't a place for you to throw a tantrum. If you've got something to say, you can say it in the interrogation room."

They swarmed our sub, their metal claws scraping against the glass dome. "I can't shake them!" the driver yelled as the sub lurched to the side. "They’re going to breach the hull!" One of the drones slammed into the glass right in front of my face. Its red eye blinked, scanning me. Identification: Logan Frost. Status: Escaped Asset. Recapture Mode Activated. The drone didn't try to break the glass anymore. Instead, it attached a giant magnetic cable to our sub. Another drone did the same on the other side. They began to pull us toward a dark opening at the bottom of the vault.

“She’s already in custody. We have teams securing every known Architect site. The drones are being neutralized as we speak.” I look toward the bunkers. Medics are helping pups and elders out. Tabitha stands among them, waving frantically when she spots me. Laura supports an injured elder nearby. The packs — Revenant and Rowena’s old blood — watch the humans warily but don’t resist.
