I didn’t know who scared me more. Frank with his unpredictable temper, teasing, and ability to ruin my life in five seconds flat or Danny with his guilt, his jealousy, and the way he finally looked at me like I wasn’t just his little stepsister anymore but someone he didn’t want to lose. He was expressing genuine horror. "Sir, Frederick hasn't come out," Danny's subordinate said. "Go inside and verify that immediately!" Danny ordered through clenched jaws. "Alright!" Danny's subordinates charged into the farmhouse after the call ended. They kicked the door open, and were met with Frederick's cold gaze. Upon looking into Frederick's eyes, they froze. It felt as if Frederick was not a human, but a beast instead. One of them shivered and retrieved his phone to call Danny. The call was soon answered.

I remain seated for a few minutes before my head starts spinning again. “Oh, oh,” I whisper to myself as I climb back into bed. I have barely cuddled in as I register bare feet tapping over the floor. My heartbeat can’t even accelerate in time as I feel someone getting under my blankets. “It’s scary outside. There are strange noises.” Danny mumbles, cuddling in next to me. As my heartbeat normalizes, I chuckle and hug him close. “Don’t worry. I’ll fight off any ghost wanting to take you away from me.”
