He didn't want to go her wrong impression about him! Chantelle sat down on the bed, still processing what had just happened. It was a strange mix of emotions - embarrassment, gratitude, and relief. But the thing that stood out to her the most was the sense of safety and comfort she felt around Delcan. It was a feeling she hadn't experienced in a long time, and she savored it. She knew that she was on the path to healing, and Delcan was helping her every step of the way.

I was standing in my doorway, holding a contract that said I was his, and the man who’d been following me for two weeks was waiting for me to sign it. I didn’t say anything. I just stood there, the paper cold in my hands, and I thought about the woman in the documentary, the one who’d packed her bag and run. She’d been smart. She’d been fast. I was neither. I was just a girl with a dead father, a failing career, a sister who needed me, and forty‑two thousand dollars I would never have. I looked at the contract again. Doll. Grace waved her off before continuing with her food. They arrived at the company and Grace showed her to her office, "this is the managing director's office. This is Devon Nelson, your secretary" she pointed at a red hue haired girl, "why don't you call out everyone Devon, I have an announcement to make." The girl called Devon glanced at Olivia with infatuated eyes before leaving the office. Damn, her work just got interesting, a lot of her friends are the secretaries of handsome young bosses and she had to be the secretary of an old man and now, a new boss just arrived in town and she is his secretary, this is amazing.
