Lucia said nothing.
Minutes passed. My head started aching, but I forced myself. Then I saw it. A gap. Not empty, just hidden. Where money ought to have slept and failed to sleep.
"There," I whispered.
Lucia leaned in. "What am I looking at?"
"A ghost," I said. "A financial ghost node."
She blinked. "That's not a thing."
“It is like you don't want to touch money,” I said. The money laundering is through a shadow account that is not on paper.
"Who would do that?"
“One that does not want his name anywhere,” I said. "Not even in lies."
Lucia straightened. "Can you trace it?"
