I looked like a monster, a ghost rising from the grave. My inner wolf didn't whine or cry for our lost family. She paced in the shadows of my mind, baring her fangs, her fur glowing white with a dangerous, lethal aura. The weak, submissive Omega named Aisha died tonight in this dirt. Turning my back on the graves, I walked away from the Blue Wing pack house and slipped into the shadows of the unknown world. I was leaving now. But I would return. And when I did, I wouldn't be hiding my white fur anymore. I would be their worst nightmare.

I turned—and saw a figure standing in the shadows of the trees. A young wolf__white fur with Glowing eyes. Not Freya, Not Veyrix. But something born of both. Freya runs away to stop the dispute alone; a strange white wolf appears, watching Finnick from the shadows.

I look at my mate. I can’t see her face. Her hair is covering it. I moved closer, trying to sniff her again, but she must have thought I wanted to bite her or eat her, so she started shaking more.

I’m an alpha, dammit, and if I want to touch her wolf I will. The hair was soft. Soft like spun cotton candy, light and airy. I wanted to bury myself in it but I’m alpha and I’m pretty sure my pack would think I lost my mind. I looked into her eyes, expecting them to match. The did not. She roared, energy bursting, pushing back against the darkness, clawing, tearing, demanding survival. Dresden’s hand found mine, grounding me, stabilizing me, and together, we pushed forward, every strike, every motion synchronized in a deadly dance of survival.
