I didn't notice when the trembling finally stopped and I just sat there waiting for someone to come. I imagined myself falling into that bottomless pit I always dreamed about, tumbling through darkness with no end in sight. Just when I thought things couldn't get any worse, the universe always found a way to prove me wrong. It was like some cruel game, seeing how much pain one person could take before they finally broke completely. "What exactly can break Jude Laurent the most? How low can she get?" I mumbled to the empty room, my voice echoing off the destroyed walls.

The times I talked myself off the ledge of becoming another wasted junkie, fucking her life away. Moss creeps over everything, not the soft green kind but the black, damp kind, reeking of decay, rot, and wet teeth.

*Anonymous POV* "I need to see the Dark Alpha immediately," Damon demanded, his voice cold and urgent as he faced the guards outside the Dark Alpha's castle. The Dark Alpha was infamous among the shifters, feared as the most malevolent creature. His pack consisted of rogue wolves, trained to be merciless and heartless. The Dark Alpha sought power above all else and delighted in inflicting slow, agonizing deaths on his enemies, savoring their pleas for mercy.

Even if it was, I desperately wanted it to be a nightmare that could never be the truth. However, look at my luck, it was true, the dark truth about me that I killed my one and only friend, my best friend, Jiahn Kang. She was in a lot of pain, pleading, begging me to spare her life. Was this really me? A person who could never see her loved ones in pain and here I was, the one who killed her own best friend, a best friend who was more than an elder sister to her.

We moved in silence: Caspian’s team in black tactical gear, Dre and I flanking them. Thermal drones had pinpointed heat signatures inside the old cannery building. We breached hard, flashbangs popping, doors kicked in. Shouts echoed as Caspian’s men flooded the space. Brandon had Georgia pinned against a wall, knife to her throat, eyes manic. Jamila and Francesca stood nearby, guns drawn, duffels at their feet, ready to bolt.

Scared that my darkness would try to take Chelsea as well. What was she even doing in my nightmare? The darkness inside me was getting out of control and I couldn't hold it back anymore. It was going to destroy anything in its path and I couldn't let that happen especially to the people close to me. My demons were seeking revenge and they wouldn't rest until they got what they wanted. This nightmare was definitely a warning that I should stay away from Chelsea. I could still picture her fear stricken face. She wanted to help me but I know that no one would ever get through to me the darkness was a part of me I just had to accept it's torture and suffering.

Why me? He is a man of darkness, there are no feelings in his world, no will, no consent, no love, no respect and no kindness. He would use me, ruin me the way he wants, play with me as he desires and I can't do anything. I can't do anything at all. Once he is done with me then he will discard me like trash. I can't be saved from his wicked tortures and games. He is a psycho and everyone knows that. My world shattered!

I pictured the moment vividly—the hesitant footsteps, the dimly lit chamber, and the cautious expression on her face as I approached her.
