With one final shriek, the vampire wriggled before bursting into nothing but ashes. Adrenaline pumping through her body after the kill, she took off in the direction that she was headed in when the vampire had appeared. A long night of hunting had finally come to an end and she could now return home. The city tonight was frozen. Thousands laid up in their homes to hide away from winter's harsh bite, giving her the perfect opportunity to strike when needed. Of course, at this hour there were still some people around but most were drunks that were intoxicated to the point where hallucinations were possible. There was no need to be discreet for now.

I had never been covered in such darkness before. Damon’s dark fog engulfed me the moment my hand touched it, and I couldn’t even see in front of me. I didn’t know much about vampires, but this, this energy—was suffocating. So suffocating… yet somehow, it wasn’t more than that.

Then I know that Darren has approached me, and from there, the memory fades, nothing I can’t remember anything. Usually, a person in the dark feels terror and loneliness, but I am fine. After all, I can say that I have been there since I was a brat in the darkness. Those born within the light are known to be gifted with magic. On the other hand, those born with the dark spirit energy have unbelievable strength, speed, and power. However, to sustain these powers, it can also come with several restraints. For example, a vampire requires consumption of blood to gain enough power, strength, and speed. Without it, they can go berserk and be killed off since their soul is now being consumed by darkness whereby, they cannot return to their original state before going berserk. Furthermore, their only weakness is a dagger through the heart which causes them to fall into slumber but not die.

His sarcastic tone could be worse than anything else. She ignored it and responded, "Vampires don't sleep." The laughter from his forum echoed in his conscience. Hell, what a big lie. Didn't it occur to you to tell him that it's because you like the darkness too? You're so... bad at this, seriously."

He replied and wiped off the little tear that slipped out of Calla's eye. "As we all know, he was a turned vampire, he couldn't have kids but they got Sophie, your niece. It is a myth that a turned vampire could impregnate another turned vampire. If they have convinced a child during the solar eclipse." He explained. Calla opened her mouth but Ethan already knew what she wanted to ask.

My eyes widened when I saw five vampires with black eyes. Dervy. They are outside the shield and trying to break the shield with their dark magic. "Let the hunting begin," Adrian said happily then grinned and quickly ran towards the Dervy group. Their father also followed him.

Xavier was the most interesting one, she had never seen a vampire before, and if it weren't for being kept captive hey Darkness, fangirling over Xavier would have been an easier thing to do. Speaking of Xavier reminded her of what he had said. Was she human? Vanilla tried not to dwell on it too much. As she laid on her back, staring at the ceiling, The door pushed open, and Darkness walked in. She sat up the bed, there was something different about him today, his eyes lingered, his jaw clenched. She had mixed feeling about seeing him. He seemed more rigid than before. His brow had a permanent furrow, more different that his normally indifferent self. She watched as he walked closer to her.
