The paper vibrated against her palms, the charcoal lines continuously redrawing themselves like ink bleeding across wet paper. "The house is turning into a literal maze," Maya breathed, her hands trembling as she gripped the heavy silver cavalry saber. She kept her eyes locked on the dark, newly formed corridor behind them, half-expecting another tracker to burst through the shifting woodwork. "Does that thing show us where to go?" "Yes, but it's moving as fast as the walls are," Nadia said, her drafting eyes hyper-focused on the geometric runes. She pointed a shaky finger at a pulsing silver node on the map.

The gun’s crack is the last thing I hear before his thoughts are scattered across the floor, his head instantly unmade… painting the floor red, and the first thing that crosses my mind is, “That could have been me.” My knees buckle under the pressure, and I drop like a stone into dust, my wasted muscle twitching and my spirit totally drained from the horror I had just witnessed. Too weak to cry out. I glance at Mr. Hawk on the ground, the tension in his throat stilled, and his neck went rigid as the last breath left his body. “Congratulations, Miss Dora, you have successfully assassinated your opponent as he just stopped jerking." “In a box right under your feet is the antidote. You have to

~Alina~ The mix of blood and sweat stuck to Alina's skin and the stray strands of hair that danced around her face. Some of it even seeped into her mouth and she internally cussed at the foul taste. She stood in the corner of the room watching as Darius had his men pin one of his associates down. His cries for mercy filled the smoke cladded room. “This would never happen again! I swear it. I SWEAR IT BOSS!” Alima's bored eyes strayed from the crying man to her godfather — Darius Anderson.

Now let's go. The guards stepped forward and tied the blindfolds. Total darkness swallowed me. I was led to my starting position on the left side of the maze. My other senses immediately kicked into high gear. I could hear the rustle of the wind, the distant cheers of the crowd, and the slow creak-creak-creak of the vine cage lowering Raven toward the ice. “Are we ready?” Maddox’s voice boomed through a microphone. “Kings, on my mark... Go!”

I drew my phone from my pocket, scrolling up to get my translator app. Got it. I proceeded to read them out loud; it wasn't what I could easily comprehend, so I'll read it for myself and the invisible audience here in this basement. At the end of transcribing the runes into, the object of star focus fell off my grip and with a loud thud, it hit the ground. I swear I held it firmly. It remained unbroken. It fell head-first to the ground, I picked it up and got more frightened when a huge amount of ash poured out

Maze smiled awkwardly and anticipated a chance to scold him for choosing such an expensive kind of place to come. As soon as she stepped in the shimmering crystal chandelier dazzled her eyes. She shoved her eyes around, the interior almost left her astonished. The velvety carpet under her feet was so fluffy and rich. She was so busy praising her surrounding that she left behind. She tapped her head as she realized she was lagged behind. She rushed to match his pace. Ryan chuckled seeing Maze gasping for breath next to him,"Did you take part in the marathon? Why are you panting so much?"

" No alarms. If the rest of the unit sees Marcus bleeding before the grid is clear, the purists will bolt into the ridge." The lower bypass smelled of old iron and sulfur. Marcus and three of his supply runners had already cleared the first biometric lock when we cut the lights. The dark didn't last three seconds—only long enough for Ezra’s vanguard to drop from the overhead ventilation shafts... It was a slaughter. Marcus was on his back in the shallow water of the drain, his boots kicking uselessly against the rusted grate as I walked up. He had two rounds in his stomach, his hands slick with his own dark blood as he tried to look up at the catwalk.

Rex says. Hector looks at the maze and knows he doesn’t have a choice. He will do what he must to keep Kelanar safe. Rex smiles and picks up the hourglass. Ruby runs into the maze. Hector waits to see if she will pass. Ash walks over to Hector. “I am Ash. I didn’t get to introduce myself before you attacked Ruby. This maze is hard to navigate. It is a painful punishment. So, it is best to lean on your fellow mates. It makes the time here better.” Ash smiles at Hector.

Our task: reach the summit before sunset while carrying supplies, signaling our progress to the observers. The maze was treacherous. Sharp rocks, sudden drops, and narrow ledges forced every step to be precise. Daren slipped once, and instinctively, I reached for him, steadying him while keeping our momentum. Liora’s eyes were fixed on a distant marker, calculating the shortest route while avoiding traps. The bond pulsed, guiding my focus, alerting me to subtle shifts in the terrain and the presence of hidden dangers.

A strange relief washed over me, but it didn’t last. We slipped inside the mountain’s mouth, the air cool and heavy with the scent of stone and moss. Our paws echoed softly as we ventured deeper than before, the tunnel narrowing until it opened into a vast chamber. My eyes caught it immediately—a glowing rune carved into the far wall, pulsing with a faint blue light. It was like the others we’d found, perfectly placed, as if someone had mapped out my path long before I was born. I stared at it, my heart pounding. Why were these runes so precise? Each one had shown me a vision, a piece of a puzzle I didn’t understand. Was someone leading me here, knowing I’d come searching? Darius's mouth ope
