One wrong move could end their lives. Darius’ teeth gritted loudly; he let out a growl, forcefully pulling out a rusted iron rod from the wall before taking a few strides toward the members of his crusade. The air was heavy with a dark, unsettling presence; it was as if death had descended into the hall. Without thinking twice, he forcefully threw the rod, smirking in satisfaction as it pierced through one of his subjects. He fell like a thud, gasping for breath with his eyes widened and his body jerking violently before he succumbed to his fate, dying on the spot.

The linguistic scholar died. Before we could even reach the secondary stairwell, the massive, tinted glass windows of the living room shattered inward. A hail of high-velocity tactical rounds tore through the air, punching violent holes into the dark velvet couches and marble walls. Three heavily armed mercenaries, clad in matte-black tactical gear and Vance syndicate insignias, breached the shattered ledge using high-tension ziplines from an adjacent rooftop. Malakai returned fire instantly, his sidearm barking three times in rapid succession. The lead mercenary dropped hard against the broken glass, a tight cluster of crimson blooming across his chest.

He knew how bloody it was the last time and he would rather kill than let anything of that sort ever

A woman on the sidewalk cried out as she recogonized her daughter who had been eliminated two years ago. When the video ended, Higher Up #1 was dead, a bullet straight between his eyes. He was slouched over, not moving, the person next to him squirming to be free. "If you still have compassion for these monster tyrants, how about the times when they used the tax money for whatever the hell they wanted?" she asked, and papers fluttered from the sky, each person grabbing one and reading through it. Cries out outrage rang out, and it was silenced when the sound of the gun was heard. Another body dropped to the ground, and Astra wrinkled her nose in disgust.

Elder Tarus, now chief elder Tarus, Tessa's adoptive father, said. Zeke turned towards Darius who was leaning against the wall, his hands crossed across his chest. “Just wow! I would never had imagined that a day would come where I, Alpha Darius of the BloodCraw Pack would be stripped of my rights to visit my own pack, where the nephew I had raised would turn against me just because of the spoken words of some women and some forged documents that no one is ready to look pass.” Darius chuckled.

A glaring exclamation mark appeared. Clara had already blocked me on WhatsApp. When I returned home, the apartment lay in complete darkness. I did not turn on the lights. I walked straight in and sat down on the cold floor. If I cried in the dark, no one would see, right? I opened several bottles of alcohol and drank recklessly, trying to drown myself, hoping the numbness of liquor would dull the pain. Clara hated the smell of alcohol on anyone.
