Deadly Game
He dropped without a single sound.
The final guard turned, his eyes widening in absolute horror as he saw his partner neutralized by a shadow. He swung his rifle toward me, but I was already inside his guard. I twisted his arm, the distinct snap of his wrist echoing through the room, and drove my dagger straight into his chest, burying the willow-leaf crossguard against his sternum.
He collapsed into the white carpet, his blood rapidly staining the pristine fabric a deep, violent crimson.
I stood over the bodies, breathing softly, my fingers tightly gripping the blood-slicked hilt of the dagger.
