I sidestep at the last second, catching her wrist and twisting it smoothly behind her back. She gasps as her back presses against my chest. I lean down, my breath brushing her ear. “Dead.” She jerks against my hold, but I don’t release her right away. Instead, I lower my mouth closer. “That was slow.”

She handed me a dark, glazed ceramic bottle and continued, "I can purge the Silver-Tipped Poison from your system if you drink this, but the exchange requires you to forfeit every recollection of your past. Is that something you're willing to accept?" Did that mean I would be able to forget Carl, the Alpha who had once held me dearly but then became my executioner, thrusting me into a living hell? Did that mean I would be able to forget my mate, whose belief in Selena's lies allowed her to steal my life and silently sanction the killing of our pup?

"Tell me more about this 'Sonic Resonance,'" Scott urged, his eyes narrowing as he scrutinized the man's expression. The escaped man nodded, understanding the need to provide further explanation. "With Sonic Resonance, I can generate focused sound waves, amplifying them to destructive levels. I can shatter glass, destabilize structures, and even incapacitate enemies through sonic blasts. It's a powerful but dangerous ability, one that the rogues wanted to exploit for their own gain."
