Death Laura Thalassa Novels & Stories

“Hello, Laura. Fancy meeting you here, love.” The woman stands there, staring at me with a saccharine smile across her face. Liam steps in front of me protectively. “I don´t understand. Who is this woman, Liam? How do you know her?” “That´s Cynthia. She was your friend. Although she died.” The woman laughs. “Cynthia. Yes, that was the name of this shell I´ve now assumed.” “That´s not Laura´s dead friend. That´s the First Siren.” Marcus said surprised as well.

Everyone's cheers and commotion suddenly fell silent. Laura turned her head to look back, her gentle smile gradually disappearing. Bertha, wearing a tight red mermaid dress that hugged her body, slowly walked over. She was like a blooming rose, both dangerous and captivatingly beautiful. On her face was a simple smile, she looked straight at Laura fearlessly. “You're not dead yet?” Laura looked at her in horror. "Where did Miss Laura know about my death? There hasn't been any news about me in the past few days. Did you send someone to kill me?”

They chased after it, but it was too fast, and soon they lost it in the darkness. They returned to the clearing, where Darell and Marcelyn began to interrogate the werewolf they had captured. The creature was terrified and disoriented, its mind clouded with fear and confusion. It took them a while to get any useful information out of it, but eventually, they managed to coax a name out of it: Zoltar. Just as Zoltar was about to spill more information, an arrow whizzed through the air, striking the werewolf in the chest and killing it instantly. They spun around, searching for the source of the attack, but whoever it was had already disappeared.

"I'm looking forward to seeing you tomorrow, Scarlett." His shadow left the room as silently as the still night, his existence remaining unnoticed. It would have been so if it weren't for the fact that Leaxandra remains conscious all this time. With the unknown shadow already out of the place, the Luna's eyes snapped open while her heart couldn't have pounded more vigorously as though surviving from death itself. ******

The battlefield stilled. Damian turned toward her sharply. Laura’s expression was grave. Her shoulders tense. Her eyes hard. “All of you saw it.” She said quietly. “I cut off Euthanasiás head. The creature died.” She swallowed. “But the form of my twin still stood.” Silence. Real silence. Not Hope’s. But the heavy, terrified kind. “And though that silence.” Laura said, voice cold as winter. “She still disappeared.” A collective shiver ran through every warrior.

I almost landed on my butt, as I lost my balance. “LET ME GO!” I demanded. The grip loosened. “ As you demand of me princess, but before you proceed, think of the children behind you.” It was Jamira. I turned to face her. I could feel tears flowing down my cheeks, but when I put my finger to the liquid, all I saw was red. “I AM THINKING OF THE CHILDREN! YOU DO NOT KNOW WHAT SHE HAS DONE!” The liquid flows faster now. “ Oh Layla…” Jamira’s face was sad. She looked like she felt sorrow for me. Theodore slowly stood up.

The death of that version bore life to who she was now, Chelsea Landore. The last thing she expected was someone digging up her past and the skeletons she buried with it. She had done many notorious things as Chelsea Landore. But Laura Christian was the most notorious. She had pulled her first scam when she was nineteen and she accidentally killed the man when he tried to kill her.

Nikolai started, his voice taking on that soothing tone he used when he thought she might be having a breakdown. "She just appeared to me again," Laura interrupted, her marks still blazing bright enough to cast shadows across the room. "She's dying. She used the last of her strength to reach me one final time. To make me remember. To warn me about what's coming." Lucian's jaw tightened. "What's coming?" Laura met his eyes, then looked at each of her mates in turn. She saw the concern there, the love, the readiness to face whatever threat she was about to describe.

I pull the blanket higher around Callum and meet his eyes. *** I pull on my shirt still half-asleep, leaving Callum sleeping safely under Tabitha’s watch. The main hall is quieter now, the celebration winding down into soft conversations and distant music. Cass kneels beside a couch where Laura lies pale and still, an oxygen mask over her face and an IV line in her arm. A human medic from the government team hovers nearby, checking vitals. Laura looks so small.

She goes where she has always gone. "I found a ledger," I say, and my voice comes out in the low careful dialect I have learned from listening to her, the register of a woman asking another woman to carry what she cannot carry herself. "In the chapel vault. It has an authorization code for a death that happened two years ago, a death that was ordered from inside this family, and the code matches the payroll sheets I transcribed in my first week. The same block letters. The same purple ink. A single initial." Nonna Carmela taps her forefinger twice on the stone lip of the well.
