"Human... how are you..." Lucien Desrosiers, the Demon King of the dark court, took one stunned step back. The noise behind him died at once. The hall was packed with elders, guards, and newly chosen sacrificial consorts, yet everyone seemed to forget how to breathe. Someone whispered, "She is not afraid of him? The Demon King's whole body carries the lust-curse. Any woman who gets too close starts collapsing within three seconds. Why is she fine?"

I was changing the past by disrupting the present, I had had the idea in my head for days. "So do we have a deal?" I asked the still grinning demon. His pale, white skin sickened me. "Yes, Ruby Davies, for the third time in your very short life, we have a deal." He extended his long, disgusting hands with dirty, long fingernails. "I must say thank you, child. You don't know how long I've chased that book and no one ever wants to complete it." "Get your hand away from me." Was my only reply.

However, my irritation passed quickly since I needed to get some answers, the sooner the better. I placed my hand on the book and pictured Samil's seal in my mind. I closed my eyes and suddenly felt a wave of electricity flowing from my hand to the book. I opened my eyes, and saw that the book pages were starting to glow. I took my hand off from the cover and the pages began flipping by themselves. They were moving faster and faster until they suddenly stopped. I glanced at the heading of the chapter. “The demon's seal…” I read it out loud, “What the hell is a demon's seal?!”

I yell, hearing the quartz finally shatter and hundreds of demons are now see beginning to charge towards us! Five seconds, Five Seconds, FIVESECONDS!! All types and shapes, colors, and beings frighteningly gained their way to the middle of the bridge. Yielding swords, axes, bows, snapping jaws and even some two horned goat looking guy! This was my first time ever seeing demons since Bahm had started allowing me in. IT WAS A HORROR!!! I was frozen in fear. Bahm suddenly throws me to the farthest end away from him and stands in front of my body, trying to perform a spell.

The man fell to the ground, screaming in pain while Ares just rolled his eyes and threw the eyeball on the ground and stomped on it because squatting in front of the man. He grabbed the man by the hair and lifted his head up so they were eye leveled. “I told you I don’t do second chances but you are someone I’ve known for so long so I don’t want to kill you off just like that but if you don’t find a way to get me rid of this demon the next time we meet, I won’t just be taking away your other eye but also your life. Got that?” He pushed the man to the ground as he stood up then turned to Cornelius with a groan.

“Yes, but with short distances like this, it’s not a problem.” “What about teleporting? Can you do that?” “Can demons do that?” “How would I know?” I shot back. He chuckled, burying his face in my neck. “You’d think she’d have learned something from living with one for months now.” I sent my elbow into his side, but he didn’t so much as wince. “She hasn’t.
