Both men shrugged and continued to the open door. Samson peeked around down the hall and waved us forward. We all hurried down the hall and kneel down at the top of the stairs to see Mortas tied to a chair below surrounded by men in all matte black armor. One of the pricks was about to saw off Mortas's single horn. "That's a great insult for us demons," Dane whispered sadly. I gritted my teeth and stood.

The dagger was cold to the touch but when it pierced my skin, the blade was as warm as the summer sun. My blood mixed with the liquid with a drop and I felt something ripple within me. It was like a hundreds of windows were opened at once, pouring a thousands of thoughts in. My whole body buzzed with the sensation of my blood rushing to every part of my body with an abnormal speed. I was so lost in familiarising with the new feeling, that I didn't realise when the princess came and stood across me.

“I didn’t consider that. Sorry. Please hold out your arm.” Clara held out her left arm. It was perfectly unscathed, with no cut marks. The old cigarette burns from her bullies weren’t there either. It was a nice sight. She looked up to see the demon pulling out a knife from his cloak and knew her arm wasn’t going to be unscathed for long. He slashed his arm and held it over her arm with the blood dripping down. “I’m going to cut your arm now, you can close your eyes if you like,” he announced. “This part is the bonding ritual.”

The demon lunged at her with lightning speed, its claws slashing through the air, but Edna was faster. She evaded the demon's attack, her movements fluid and precise. With a quick strike, she plunged her blade deep into the demon's chest, causing it to shriek in agony. The creature thrashed about, but Edna held her ground, her grip unyielding. As the demon's life force ebbed away, it let out a final wail before collapsing to the ground, vanquished.

Alex felt his body being lifted off the ground as a dark aura surrounded him. He felt a searing pain in his chest, and he fell to the ground, writhing in agony. His eyes turned red, his muscles bulged, and his skin began to ripple and change, taking on a dark hue. He felt an incredible surge of power coursing through his veins, and he began to convulse as the demon inside him grew more powerful. Alex was too shocked to even shout, and he watched in horror as his body began to transform. Alex tried to fight back to regain control of his body, but the demon was too powerful. It spoke to him, in a voice that was not his own, promising him untold powers and strength if he would just submit to it

All the while, more tears streamed from my eyes at the thoughts of getting my friend killed. Just then, Damon appeared behind her. Rushing towards the demon, he sank his elongated talons into her back. She screamed out, releasing Rhea in the process. Rhea took that opportunity to get the gun. She released a single shot straight to her heart. Her loud ear-piercing screams increased to screeches as she fought to get Quinn off her back but it was useless.
