Most of the books are romance novels and etiquette guides, useless for my purposes. But tucked at the back, I find a thin volume on supernatural creatures. I flip through pages frantically until I find a short section on demons. The text is brief, clearly sanitized for general reading, but it gives me fragments of information. Sighing, she looked at what she had written down so far: Demons exist in some form, in almost all belief systems. Demons are masters of illusion, often appearing as what their targets fear/desire. She questioned adding that last point since it seemed so bizarre and left-field. Especially with the mention of “scientists”. She however, dug deeper and found a small but compelling amount of scientific (or para-scientific) study of such things, which had all come to similar conclusions, so figured she may as well add it to the list anyway.
