He looked down at the red spreading on his shirt. "You," he said with no breath. "You really lost it."Aaron fell down next to Elara. Blood spread under him on the stone. His breathing got rough and fast.Darius dropped the glass. What did he just do? Aaron was his friend. His brother. The only family he had left besides Celeste. "Aaron, I…." "Kael," Aaron whispered. His hand tried to touch Elara's face. "Kael is coming." Then his eyes went blank and still. Just like Celeste's did before.

I managed to gasp out. "Coma. She woke up and went back into a coma," Aaron said angrily. "Brianna too and Blake is dead." Blake, I might not have known him but the times I spent with him, he was an amazing person. He genuinely loved the guys and must have died trying to save me.

Then a voice she hadn’t heard in over a decade: “Mara. It’s me. Don’t believe what they’re showing you. He didn’t kill me. I’m alive.” Her knees buckled. The phone nearly slipped from her fingers. “...Aaron?” Before he could respond CLICK. Call ended. And on her phone screen a new photo appeared. Aaron. Bound. Alive. Holding a sign with one word written in blood: "RUN." She stared at the photo on her phone. Aaron. Older now. Hollow-eyed. Alive.

Hell is too cold to scald his skin and the same way he did to the poor women. With the remaining strength in my trembling legs, I walked out of the cottage and the stepped out into the open. Beta Aaron was there, attempting to separate the badly burnt dead bodies from the injured ones. “There are no survivors,” he called out the instant he saw me, straightening up. “Dante has done it again, the blood wolf has struck again.” Aaron bent down again and started separating the dead bodies with his hands. “I'm trying to see if there are any babies or small children who are managed to at least survive. But wait…”

"Not for them. Not for anyone. Just... stay right here for one second and let me feel that you're alright." "Okay. I understand. Go back, take the time you need. I'll be here... waiting, checking in, making sure you're okay." I nodded my head , feeling relief. "Thank you. I just wanted to see how you'd take it." Zaire smirks lightly. "I survived. But I'm warning you I'll be texting, calling, FaceTiming... making sure you're thinking about me as much as I'm thinking about you." I laughs softly. "Deal." "I just... I think it would be good to go back for a bit, see my friends, feel normal again," i said softly.
