Detective O'Connell looked somewhat in his middle forties, his golden eyes matching his brown hair, his lack of a wedding ring normal for someone with his type of duties. He had probably been a fine man in his youth "Miss Paul", Detective O'Connell said as I sat up on the bed with the help of Sacha. I had been wondering when the police were going to show. "We won't take much of your time now". "This is Detective Conan with me", O'Connell introduced, pointing to the younger looking man behind him who nodded at me. "We'll just take your statement, ask a few questions and we'll be out of your hair".

I nod, letting out a quiet sigh of relief. That went a lot better than I expected. “Yeah. I think so, too.” I really hate to lie to him, but he left me no choice. This conversation with Matthew must happen, regardless of the consequences I’ll face with him. Walking into the station house, I saunter over to the coffee machine. I quickly poured myself a cup before making my way back to my desk. While taking a sip, I fail to notice Detective Simmons rushing to his desk. The entire cup gushing over my shirt drenching it entirely. I gasp out in shock and pain. “I’m so sorry! Are you okay?” I barely hear Simmons frantically say.

Detective Conan made his way through the dense undergrowth to the warehouse. He walked around the building, looking for a weak area through which he could enter unobserved. He discovered the fire escape that led to the second floor. The iron stairs were rusted and old, but they would last a while. He climbed the stairs slowly and silently. When he got to the top floor, he tried to unlock the door but realised it wasn't locked. He crept inside quietly, making sure the door didn't squeak.

The television victim had dark hair. Conner stood up and turned away from the body. “Seen enough?” the other detective asked. “Yeah...thanks,” Conner mumbled. “I’ll be on my way now.” He ducked under the yellow tape and made his way to his car. Once inside, he sat behind the wheel, thinking. The game had changed, ever so slightly. The killer was no longer meticulously following the details from the television show. Conner wanted to know why. He had a feeling the answer could be important.

Logan protested. "Look," Conan said firmly. He kneeled next to the grieving detective and put his hand under Logan's chin and tilted it upward. He tried to resist but Conan only shoved him down until they were beside the little girl once again. Who knows if she had witnessed what happened to her mother?

"Well, the footage got deleted, it might take a while to retrieve it so we didn’t get the chance to watch it yet," the chief answered back, and that made detective conan think that maybe he was wrong about the murderer being an inexperienced one. "I guess I was wrong to think that the murderer is an amateur then," detective conan said voicing out his thoughts.

The older one couldn’t be more than fourteen, and the little one huddled in her lap crying was maybe three at best. The girls hurried away into the far corner on the other side of the toilet. I couldn’t see any bruises, at least from here. Please don’t let them have hurt these kids. “It’s okay. We’re here to help. I’m Detective Hibiki Konishi of the San Francisco PD.” Hibiki softly greeted, crouching down and offering his wallet that displayed his badge and license.

The detective called an hour later. He was talking to Mitsuhide as Kit was dozing on the couch. Mitsuhide was listening to the man as he was rambling himself at the way everything had come to light. Mitsuhide had to shake his head; it seemed the detective was over his head as any normal person would be in sifting through this horribly tangled mess.
