Dominic didn’t raise his weapon, but the room felt like it had.
“Name,” Dominic said.
“Director Vale,” the man replied with a small bow. “Field voice of Helix Crown.”
I studied him. “You’re early.”
“I’m punctual,” he corrected. “You’re exceptional.”
“Flattery wastes time,” I said.
“Not when it’s accurate.”
Observer Two shifted slightly, angle tightening. Vale noticed, approved.
“Ah,” Vale smiled. “Family oversight present. Good. Witnesses improve history.”
“You’re done,” Dominic said.
