Diamond Field Novelas e Histórias

Chapter 76: The Cracks in the High-Rise The velvet box sat open on the glass coffee table. Its contents caught the light of the Manhattan penthouse. Inside was a 1932-cut diamond. It was unpolished, jagged and held a multi-billion-dollar secret. Elena stood a foot away. Her arms were crossed tightly as she stared at the diamond. For months Julian's family had looked down on her. They treated her like a distraction in his life. The Vane dynasty valued perfection. Arranged corporate mergers. They wanted a woman who could be molded into a piece of background decoration. They had no idea that this rough diamond was the Julian needed to tear down his fathers facade.

As I stood before the Goddess, the spectral wolf regarded me with eyes that held ancient wisdom and, surprisingly, recognition. "Your pack was broken, because I made you one of my little diamonds, a very special wolf that allows me to help my people, but Kieran here, who was once your father’s beta. I wanted to use that power for darkness, not light, as I intended. He is even considering making you his mate, but I make sure of safeguards for my little diamonds that are born once every millennium. They can only have one mate, their true one, as a false one's mark would disappear, and my little diamonds' fated mate is the same; no rejections or arranged mating can break this bond.” She stated.

Fin stated rather than asked. The Priestess smiled, her ancient eyes twinkling with wisdom. "The goddess works in mysterious ways, young Maxwell. What you see with human eyes is not always what exists in the spiritual realm. In her true essence, Diamond is silver light, the reflection of the moon, the embodiment of the goddess's wisdom. The physical manifestation may appear white with markings, but her soul energy is pure silver."

The lid popped open, revealing a stunning pink diamond that rolled onto the floor. Shawn's eyes widened in disbelief. "Isn't that… the famous pink diamond from Radiant Jewelers? The one they call the Jayrodale's King of Diamonds?" He gasped and questioned, "It's a 7.5-million-dollar diamond? How the hell did you get your hands on that?" The commotion drew the attention of Stevens Corporation employees and passersby. They gathered around, gawking at the jewel that had been the fantasy of countless women in Jayrodale, a dream gift from a Prince Charming that no one could afford.

As I stared down at the glimmering diamond ring, I could only think about how ironic this entire thing was. "You have a horrible memory, Dean. This ring is filthy." I walked over and grabbed the ring. Dean grinned with glee, foolishly assuming that I'd changed my mind. "Eve, you..." However, his face soon went stiff, frozen in place. I raised my hand and threw the priceless diamond ring down to the patch of grass at the bottom of the building. Tears welled up in his eyes as he gazed down in dejection, clinging to the railing.

Dominique asked with curiosity. “Um, no, I just…” I stutter. Grabbing the box, Dominique pulls the necklace out slowly. I watch as he observed it. “This one is called the Diamond Tear. It’s a single Diamond in the form of a teardrop. The necklace is white gold, twenty carats. It’s a unique one in the world,” the woman explained briefly. Dominique raised his hand. Silently, I stare at the Diamond. Somehow my head started pounding. Groaning in pain, I held my head.

I said in all seriousness, and Damiano chuckled. “We can get you some chicken nuggets after.” “I’m telling you; it’s worth every penny.” Damiano slightly shook his head, completely amused that I was discussing chicken nuggets with such seriousness. “Ladies and gentlemen, it is with a great privilege that I stand before you today to introduce a true marvel of nature’s artistry; the renowned Tiffany Yellow Diamond!” The entire banquet gasped by the incredible diamond necklace.

He opened the box carefully, revealing a gold pendant with a red diamond in the center. “This diamond,” he explained, tilting it slightly so the light caught it, “is one of a kind. It was mined from a site my family has owned for generations.” “It’s impressive,” I admitted, watching as the diamond seemed to emit its own glow. “And it’s symbolic,” Khalid continued, placing the pendant on the table between us. “Because like this diamond, true alliances are rare and difficult to find. But when you have them, they shine brighter than anything else.”

Guests can not only receive well-prepared gifts, but also enjoy ancient works of art. Lydia's wedding ring design was ready, and Vince bought her a precious pink diamond in South Africa to make her wedding ring. The wedding ring was inspired by Disney's fireworks show, with the diamond in the shape of a firework and their names engraved inside. Human life is short, but a diamond can carry their love through the centuries. Lydia can't wait to see the finished diamond! This evening, Lydia and Gwen are going to a party. It's a businessman's party, where people drink champagne, complement each other, and then talk about partnerships and signed contracts.

Luna then pulled out a button-size diamond out of her pouch. "But… That is a diamond, right? I cannot accept that. That is too much." Jean was amazed by Luna's generosity. "That is a flawless 2-carat, grade D diamond. If I am not mistaken, you can sell it for up to 30,000 US dollars. I hope that it can help you. That is my reward for you for being such a nice person. Thank you for not judging us. I hope that you will continue to be good to others. But please do not tell your co-workers about it." Luna insisted on giving the diamond. She has tons of it in their house especially that the cave in their pack was filled with different precious gemstones.
