The moonlight shone over him and directly onto her. And his heart froze. Chelsea was staring at him, transfixing her yellow eyes upon his. She was calm and quiet, and he could see that her hands had almost worked themselves free of the chains. They weren’t hands any more though, more like a mix of human fingers and dog paws, but each digit tipped with a spiky, needle-like nail. She was almost free of her bindings. And she was going to kill him.

It was Damian Knight’s voice when he said, “You belong to me.” Because a part of her believed him. And a darker part didn’t want to argue. She stood restlessly and wandered the room. Her fingers trailed along the bookshelves. Most were hardbound. Thick, glossy, untouched. Titles like Power & Play, Behavioral Strategy, and Psychology of Loyalty. One book was crooked. She tilted her head. It was the only one not aligned with the rest. She reached out. Pulled it. Nothing happened. No secret door. No dramatic reveal.

I suddenly start pacing around the room, picking up the book she was reading from her bedside. "You got some food around here?" I ask, flipping the pages of some book that says ‘The Girl Who Bit Me’. She walks up behind me and grabs the book, her eyes still fixed sternly on me, unblinking. "What diamonds?" she interrogates again like an actual detective that just got a hot clue. I throw my hands up in the air, feeling totally defeated. "He gave me three million dollars worth of diamonds, Pippa." She takes a loud gasp and her body almost drops on the bed. Her eyes are the widest I've ever seen them.

A beautiful diamond ring was sitting inside the box and illuminating with a blue light. "Natalia Rauf, since the day one I fell for you unknowingly. You stole my stone cold heart and corrupted soul. You made me a lover boy from a monster. You changed me and made me yours. You made every moment special for me." My eyes glistened up as I looked at his glossy ocean blue eyes.

GOD! The place is nothing I've seen before. From the chandelier to the sculptures, to the expensive looking paintings the hung on the wall to the tiled mirror floor. Everything was exquisite, presice, luxurious. Gold and diamond ornaments engraved every window, every door, every wall. By the look of things, Damian and his family were stinking, filthy rich. He, being a billionaire is an understatement. He was a zillionaire times infinity. That's why he is so full of himself, I thought. We were greeted warmly by this pretty maid wearing those cliché black and white uniform with a feather duster in her hand.

"Starr, did you see which way Diamond went?" Her shoulders slumped, and her smile faded. She didn't bother with words; instead, she pointed to the exit. It took me three steps to reach the door and another one to actually get through it once it was open. There wasn't much activity in the dimly lit parking lot behind Club Swank. With all of Union 21's peddlers inside, sales weren't happening on the sidewalks. The streets were quiet except for my heavy boots on the gravel. Just as I got beyond the piece of shit Ford that sat next to the building, I saw the black Lexus. And then Diamond.

And this is how the last story about Light and Darkness that I wanted to present to you ends. It was certainly an extraordinary journey, showing different stories, but at the same time touching the same topic - can two such opposing poles as Light and Darkness connect at some point? I'll leave it to your own choice, but one thing is for sure - as Miyuki said in Book 4, wanting to stop the battle between vampires and wizards - Light and Darkness certainly couldn't exist without each other. If there was only Light but no Darkness, what would be its meaning? Likewise, if there was only Darkness in the world, wouldn't its existence be pointless without trying to "devour" the Light?
