Malignant Sadness

Malignant Sadness

"Ten—oh? I mean, t-two. It's two, I guess?" I heard him sighed upon hearing my stupid answers. Seriously! This was definitely brain cracking! This thing was more complicated than answering which came first between an egg and the chicken! I started to release more of my frustration towards the book as I turned its pages carelessly. "Ya!" Hey! he snorted. "What are you? An alien or something? Ten hands, my ass. Why are you so distracted today? That book... does the book really need to suffer? As far as I know, it's your favorite book. Look, you're murdering the pages and—”

OBSESSED (Book One)

OBSESSED (Book One)

My head doesn't think straight when too many people are around and I'm nervous as it is. "Gabriella, you forgot that this is my house and I have the spare key to your room." He reminds me and I hiss. "You also forget that you're such a messy animal, it'd take you hours to actually find them." I reply and he shuts up, finally giving up on trying to intimidate me. I peep through the door to see a distraught Martin furiously typing away on his phone. "Who are chatting with?" I ask as soon as I walk out but I don't get a reply, instead Martin just stares back at me like he was staring at a stranger or something.

Love and lies: Married to his enemy

Love and lies: Married to his enemy

The books on the shelf were neatly arranged but the frayed edges and the little tears on the bottom of most of the books gave out that they’d been read a couple times. Adrian didn't particularly strike me as someone who would love to read but I guess you can't always judge a person by their outward appearance. I traced my fingers along the spines, the titles ranging widely from classic literature, to mindset guides then to business strategy books. One title in particular caught my eye and I pulled it out : Good to Great by Jim Collins. I flipped through the pages not so sure of what I was looking for, because I wasn't interested in reading the book at the time, but it was an appropriate dist

Billionaire Son-In-law

Billionaire Son-In-law

Thinking maybe it was his overactive imagination, he forced himself to focus on the book once more. But still, he found that he couldn't focus on the book, that feeling was still there, the feeling of being watched, as if something or someone might just attack him out of nowhere. The words on the page blurred before his eyes, the once captivating narrative now overshadowed by the lingering sensation of an unseen presence. The room grew heavy with a cruel silence, broken only by the occasional sound the pages made as Liam turned them. He tried to shake off the unsettling feeling and focus on the book, but it was stuck, to him.

Tainted Blessing

Tainted Blessing

That was the deal and it was more important than ever. “Distractions are good.” Luca moved closer to her. Zira’s heart was almost beating out of her chest at the slightest brush of his skin against hers. “They can be,” she pushed away from the railing, ”but you see that chick down there with the crazy eyes glaring at me?” she pointed down to Harper. “She will probably be the death of me if she sees me continue to be distracted.” She smiled at the disgusted looks on their faces as they returned her glare. It even made Harper look away at last.

Alpha of Knight

Alpha of Knight

Hmm. "Barbie doll?" A click of fingers snaps me out my thoughts and I glare at Tristian. Goggles is nowhere around, leaving me alone with this psycho. "What's your problem? Go away and sit somewhere else. You are distracting mr from my study hour." I whisper. He pouts, " You're not the only one studying. I brought a book too. See it's such an important topic" he shows me the cover page of the book. "One hundred and one ways to use Banana peels. Yeah, surely a great topic." I nod my head and Tristian's brows furrow as he checks the cover himself.

Once Upon An Alpha

Once Upon An Alpha

I carefully dusted and decided to reorganize them. The busy work was a good distraction, but I still felt like there was a faint squeak of an old door hinge constantly replaying in my mind, reminding me that I disagreed with my mate's decision. The main issue with the busy work was that Orion ruined my distraction when he texted me to tell me they were in Silver Crescent, pulling me back into my concern. Once the books were all back on the bookshelves, I gave myself a mental pat on the back. I used to love going through my books. It was like saying hello to all of my friends.

This story is so good!! The author seems to put time and effort behind their characters!! And while peoples choices can be frustrating, baby beta looking at you, they all make sense with how the story is progressing and what’s happened! Couldn’t recommend this book enough!
Space Cow
I love this book. The author has created a wonderful world with well thought characters that I actually care about. The characters aren't perfect, they each have their own flaws and personalities. Each of them have grown in their own ways.

Called by Fire

Called by Fire

“Bree, what was that?” Brianna was occupied flipping through the first book, so she didn’t answer at first. He saw her shocked expression and got by her side to check the name of the book she was reading. ‘The peacemaker fallacy: waging war as a business strategy’ Nate frowned, trying to make sense out the title. “Bree, what is it?” “Love… it’s about the Council. All of them, look.” She got a few pieces of paper that didn’t belong to any book and showed him what she saw.

Falling For My Billionaire Revenge Daddy

Falling For My Billionaire Revenge Daddy

Roxy's POV Distraction—attempting to do one thing but completely captured by another. I hated distractions. Especially when I was trying to study. If there was a sudden fire and I had a book in my hand, I would surely be the last person to leave the building. But here I was sprawled on the college football bleachers, trying to bury my head in the interview prep notes for the job Professor McLain had scored me and yet the rhythmic thud of footballs being kicked and thrown below was impossible to ignore. Every few second, I glanced up, my concentration breaking as I watched him.

Accidental Bibliophiles

Accidental Bibliophiles

He asks and I chuckle. "This book is about a war between dragons and shit. It's not like a cook book or a knitting class." I say, chewing on some ice as I type up the description online. "Stop chewing on ice, you're gonna ruin your teeth." Jack barks through the phone, but I ignore him. "Yes or no? I'm sure Mrs. B would just give us the books. You're the one who was bitching that we need to try new things." I say and he groans a little, obviously annoyed by me.
