“I told Chloe not to go so many times. She just kept getting curious about the forest. She has barely been outside the pack in the past.” Hannah sniffed, coughing as if her own tears were choking her. The chief inspector, Holland, handed her a handkerchief but did not dare hug her like he would back at the camp. I wished he had. A cheating accusation would have made this story a lot more fun. “In her wandering, that was when she saw a lake near the refugee camp…” Hannah paused, milking the attention that was on her. “She ran off to play and vanished without a trace. The rest of us had to handle the distribution by ourselves.”

Hayden seems to accept this, and we move on to staking the tent into the ground. Once the tents are up, Hayden looks over at me. “Now what?” I grin. “It will be dark soon. How about we get a campfire started? I have hot dogs and marshmallows we can roast over the fire.” Hayden jumps up and down. “Yes, yes, yes!” It warms my heart to see him having fun. He’s been through a lot. With Amanda cycling through who knows how many guys, it had to be hard on him. And it’s only gotten harder since her diagnosis, I’m sure.

DINNER BY THE CAMPFIRE A couple of hours later, after a much more pleasant, leisurely hike than the one coming into the valley, we returned to our camp at the bend of the river. As the site came into view, the first thing I noticed was Hannah. She was standing in the river topless. Her shirt was in her hands, and she seemed to be trying to wash it in the river. Even from a distance, it was immediately clear that she had absolutely spectacular breasts, natural and quite large for her size and slender build.

That evening they discussed what tactics Hannah could use to determine what are and are not appropriate things to say to people in every situation possible. Julie’s sister Mara was young when she discovered she was pregnant with Hannah. She was only 18, barely out of high school, when she crossed paths with Hannah’s father. “I don’t know Julie!”, Mara had confided in her, “He was so cute with these freckles and red hair, you know I always had a thing for gingers, and he had this arsenal of all the right things to say.” Julie sat on her couch listening to her baby sister spill the whole story.

It's not that he couldn't just come back or anything but, it was quite strange that he didn't call or text before he did. My mother sat beside him while I sat opposite both of them. "There was an incident, so I had to leave for a while," he said. I knew something had happened, "What kind of incident?" My mother asked. "It actually involves Hannah," he mentioned, which took me by surprise. "Hannah, as in white-haired Hannah?" I asked, while he nodded, what was Hannah doing in Nashville, wasn't she supposed to be in the Crow Hill pack? "Something that had to do with catching a scientist, by the way, she said you had something to tell me, and where's dad?"

Emmett said he was not going to risk upsetting his taste buds and stomach while Hannah acted like they did not exist. We all returned to the resort the next day. Hannah dropped us there and left, claiming she had a meeting with Arthforde high school’s principal to get us vacancies. She did not forget to warn us about going to the forest. I had a feeling that would not be listened to because when I had told my brothers the story, they had seemed to be filled with curiosity. “I want to see the big bad wolf,” Zach had said. “I don’t think it will bite me either.”

A car picked her up and took her to the camp Roger had set up. The camp wasn't far from the dock—it was only a ten-minute drive. As Hannah stepped out of the car, a middle-aged man greeted her. "Hi, I'm Roger," he said, holding his hand. "Hannah." "I didn't expect Victoria to send such a beautiful representative," Roger said. "Well, I..." Hannah was at a loss for words. "The trip must have been terrible, huh? Come on, let me take you to rest and get you a refreshing drink."

the grumpy dude says. “Adrian,” I say shortly. “How sweet. The last three letters of your names match!” she beams. Damian and I turn to each other and nearly gag. I hadn’t even noticed it before, and now it’s stuck in my head like a cursed jingle. I’ll save that fact for when I need to induce vomiting. “I know you both will be best friends after this camp,” she chirps before leaving. We blink at nothingness for a second, then both gag dramatically.

She can follow tracks, knows how to find water and shelter if needed. When I move into the tent, I see Parker has only made one large bed. He makes a face but motions for me to put her in the middle. Once we’re all snug under a large quilt, Hannah sighs and moans lightly in her sleep. I practically hold my breath as she moves right into my arms. *Enjoy it while you can,* Parker says, clearly annoyed. *Don’t worry, I will,* I reply.

Hannah’s POV I kissed my mom goodbye for the fourth time. “Make sure to come home with prizes.” I could hear Dad say as I walked out of our home. “There's our pretty angel.” Uncle Fred said as I entered his car. I scoffed. “Uncle Fred. Do I have to go to camp every season?” I asked. I felt something about this one was going to be different. “Well, as a preacher's kid, if you wouldn't be there, who would?.”
