The doctor told me that it would be difficult for me to conceive again. I still remember how he had broken down in tears in front of me for the first time, soaking my shoulder with his remorse. He swore that he had failed me, that he hadn't protected me or our child. He promised that even if we never had children, he would love me just the same. Those vows still echoed in my ears, but the man standing before me now was a complete stranger. I roared in fury, "Get out! I don't ever want to see you again—except on the day we sign the divorce papers."

He slammed the bathroom door shut. Sydney burst into tears, the stitch on her chest was opening. She walked out of the room crying, she had no idea where she was going. It's just as cold, grey and defiantly clean as the day I left it. "We have arrived." What the hell was that dream? The divorce document in my person is already enough to squeeze my chest; I mean, a failed marriage is typically the woman's fault, right? For not being homely enough, or whatever? So what’s the need for the dream if I already feel like shit without it?
