She had her eyes down but she wasn't looking at anything. She sighed and paused. "I feel different around him, like we have met before? But I haven't met him before. Is this de va ju? She sighed again for the fifth time or was it? I lost count. She remembered when she turned and how she felt. The string of electricity she felt from the man was something she had felt before but she couldn't remember where and from whom. She paused and watched again. "Like I was waiting my whole life for that moment." She said out loud. "Did I just say that?" She asked Brandon who seemed to not understand anything she was doing. Was that from a book? Or a movie? Seemed to real to me.

Like how had I seen this place in my dreams when I’d never been there before? My mind went back to the morning and waking up with her playing with my chest, and that low hum that’s always just there beneath the surface whenever she’s around got a bit stronger. I can’t quite describe the feeling; it’s like a vibration that starts in my core and strums its way throughout my body and usually heads south.

She felt somewhat uneasy as if someone is actually watching her. She raised her brow and avert her gaze ahead. There were rows of trees and she walked in between them while the tree branches started to be filled with crows gazing straight at her as if they were planning something. Hellion felt her heart thumping loudly in her chest but it’s not because of fear and anxiety but she felt a sudden gush of familiarity as she walked between the pack of crows. This must’ve happened before. If not, why does she felt a sense of déjà vu? Hellion simply threw the thought on the back of her mind. She don’t want to think to hard with her memories refusing to come back.

She was about to shut the curtain to cover the windowpane when she felt her stomach tightening into a searing pain and in an instant, she was engulfed in the unbearable twisting and pain distending across her abdomen. Deja vu. Everything was so familiar. The storm. The lady. I am that lady. I remember how painful my abdomen was but what I was feeling in the present was different from before. It was not just my abdomen and uterus tightening this time. Unfortunately, my whole body was suffering in restraint and I felt like a force was draining the life out of me. Everything was the same except that I was a spectator, witnessing the happenings unfold… all over again.

If only she hadn't fallen asleep on the bed! She still had to do her hair and her face. She picked up her brush and began to work hurriedly. When she walked into the hotel bar, she saw Bryan watching her from a table on the other side of the room and a shudder ran through her. Deja Vu, she told herself hurriedly. That was what it was, deja Vu because this was almost a re run of the night they had met and she remembered with another shudder the way their reflections had shimmered in the dark glass behind the bar. It had seemed significant then, more so now.

Whatever had captured her mind so terribly was being eased as she nodded and encouraged me to talk. Holding my hand, she softly stroked the top with her thumb, just as my mother had done and I felt tears spring up and sting my eyes. “If I had known…if I had told someone I had seen the same thing four times maybe something would have been different?” “It is hard to say, sometimes I could change things, sometimes it happened exactly as I dreamt no matter how hard I tried to meddle,” she sighed. “Did you feel the déjà vu when you walked in?”

She handed him the book. Their fingers brushed. And something inside her stirred; faint but real. Not a memory. Not yet. A feeling. As if time folded in on itself for a second. As if she’d lived this moment before but couldn’t quite grasp when or where. Juliette blinked, her hand retreating slightly, her chest tight with something unnamed. Damon’s eyes didn’t leave hers. “You okay?” he asked, voice low. She nodded slowly. “Yeah. Just a weird rush. Like déjà vu”.
