Sometimes when you want something so bad, you can't help it. The sky is getting darker, but it's not quite nighttime yet. There's a pink and purple tinge to the clouds as they slowly move overhead. They're a beautiful splash of color against the high buildings, and the smell of metal. Being in the middle of the city, I'd thought this backyard would be noisy, but it's not. It's like we're in our own little world here. One where nothing can touch us, nothing can invade and put a stop to the nonsense flowing through my head.

I didn’t have time to get a message back so I am desperately hoping that he received it. The room doesn’t seem to have a clock or anything in it but when I look out of the window it’s pitch black outside and it sounds like it’s pouring down rain. I am standing at the window when I hear a crack of thunder roll through the sky and just a few seconds later there is a beautiful streak of lightning that lit up the whole sky like it was the daytime. It feels so black that it’s almost like the Moon Goddess has closed her eyes and was crying for the world.

Black Council was placed in such a place that no one could find it. On the top, it was protected with the witch shield, but it was not the same for the hospital. It was on the outskirts of the place, a place that couldn’t be found by everyone. It wasn’t that the hospital wasn’t a safe place; it was. It’s just that it could be seen while the area where they were living was hidden with mountains, forest, and thick fog.

God fucking damn it! The weather only got worse as she plowed through the drifts. Her vision was reduced to a blanket of white outside of her limbs. She finally glanced back, unable to make out any sign of the beast behind her. Any slight hope his absence caused died when an off-key humming of “Paint it Black” came to her with the next freezing blast of wind.

Because of the density and thickness of this pitch-black soot covering the ground, it almost seemed as if the entirety of their their visions have been grayscaled. The terrain of the Pandemonium wasn't plain but quite rocky. She could see several hills blocking her vision past 100 meters, in every direction. The vegetation and bushes were making it even harder to see past a limited distance. Also, below the pitch-black soot, she noticed a contrasting unexplainable fibrous glimmer that sparkled her pupils. Rain bent on her knee and gently cleared out the black soot with her palm, to which a densely packed veiny structure became visible.

My breath pants from my lips as the wind and darkness rips around us. We only travel for a few terrifying moments before my feet hit hard against stone and light returns to the world, however dim. I groan in horror at what I see – at the black sky that stretches for miles in all directions over the black marble terrace on which I stand. A sky lit purple at the horizon, with not a single star in the heavens. But three moons hang low and heavy in the darkness – one round and huge and orange, the others smaller but equally bleak.

Hearing that from Noah again only worsened the situation for she was more shocked than when Aunt Leah questioned the children. “Today was great auntie, we had fun” Carl replied and Gracie added “Mommy did well today” Daphne forced a smile as she tries to stabilize her coughing state. NIGHT Everywhere was dead silent and only the chirping of birds could be heard from outside Black’s mansion. He dismissed his workers and locked the door by himself. He’s been trying Kai’s number for two hours straight but it wasn’t going through. Just when he stood up from the wheelchair, he received a call.

On the outskirts of the town, a secluded abandoned warehouse stood. The insects created a symphony of sounds, filling the darkness with their unique calls and chirps. The chirping of crickets adds to the strangeness of the area. The weathered exterior of the warehouse marked by the ravages of time, conceals a clandestine underworld thriving within its walls. Behind the facade of neglect and abandonment, secretive meetings unfold within dimly lit chambers, where whispered conversations echo off the cold, concrete walls. The scent of cigar smoke hangs heavy in the air, mingling with the tension that permeates the space.

The soft light flickered once, twice, and then snapped shut into total, unyielding darkness. The silence that followed was absolute. The penthouse was black. The city skyline was a jagged wall of distant neon smudges. Ava lay back on the thin canvas mattress, her eyes wide open, staring into the pitch-black interior of her concrete cage. Her body was trembling violently from the sub-zero air, but her mind was entirely clear.

Thick, heavy, absolute, like someone hung a sheet over the glass. I sit up. The IV pulls at the back of my hand, and the monitor chirps its disapproval. Outside, the world has disappeared. Snow has buried the parking lot, the rooftops, the streets. The cars below are just lumps, soft mounds with no edges. Wind pushes the flakes sideways in dense curtains. I can't see past the building next door. Seattle doesn't do this. Seattle does gray drizzle and passive-aggressive mist and the occasional dramatic downpour. Not this. This is something out of a disaster movie.
