Lory’s POV It has been one week since the day I learned that Jackson and the others are werewolves. According to them, I, too, am a werewolf, but I think they’re mistaken. I don’t feel any different; I’m still me. Werewolves change shape for the first time when they turn 18, but I didn’t. Their wolves live alongside them and take over when their human side permits it. I don’t have a wolf inside me. I’m convinced that they’re wrong about that—or perhaps I’m just the unfortunate one who was born without a wolf in my pack and, as a result, was raised by humans. I had to find help. Damon signaled to Jackson, to take me away. Jackson approached me, his eyes filled with concern. I fought back, refusing to leave Damon's side. But Jackson was persistent. He held me in place and began pulling me away, his grip firm but gentle. I struggled against him, tears streaming down my face. "Please, Lily," Jackson pleaded. "We have to go.
