I chewed a block of ice, and folded my arms. "Spill." "Spill what, ma'am?" She asked. "You have something for that guy, don't you?" I asked, and her eyes grew wide. She looked around frantically, and looked like she was going to say something, but bit her lip instead. "Well, I do feel something for him. I like him." She said, slowly, with her eyes glued on the blocks of ice floating in her drink. "So, who's he?" I asked. "He's the new neighbour who moved in next to my house. So, I see him every morning, and almost every time I decide to sit on my balcony." She said, and I smiled.

" He asked, his voice suddenly becoming husky and his eyes glinting with mischief. "So, you visit all of your 'neighbors whenever you can't find them for a couple of days because Caren was sick last month and she lives in your street. Did you visit her?" He asked, a self satisfied smirk on his lips. "Shut up!" I glared. "You are so cute when you lose," "I didn't lose! besides Caren isn't exactly my neighbor and my dad doesn't like her dad…" "Just admit you like me! I won't be mad, you are my mate after all, it's normal. In fact, I would be worried if you didn't like me.*

I wondered. I walked slowly towards the window with my arms wrapped around me. I grabbed the window handles to pull them back to close it but I stopped midway when I noticed the lights next door. Who could that be? The house beside us was empty for over a year. I squinted and could actually see the inside of the room through the window adjoining mine. Like seriously, I could strangle the guy who constructed these houses like that. So damn close! Anyway, we finally got some new neighbours. What an odd time to move in though, I couldn't help but think. I just hope they would be nice. My parents could have some pals.

Max's voice makes me tear my gaze away from her as he stands beside me. "I am glad you could make it, man." He slaps my back when I turn to him. Because of my jealousy, I wouldn't have seen this earlier, but there is something likable about his personality. He has a welcoming personality that makes you feel like you have known him for a very long time. I said apologetically, embarrassed by my previous attitude. “Ohh, ok. Just wait a minute,” she said before she rushed upstairs. “Is that your friend?” “Just a neighbour, more like the only neighbour I interact with,” I said with a little chuckle. To which he responded with a nod. “She seems nice,” he said looking in the direction she went. “She is,” no doubt she was nice. And that’s what matters. How nice you are to others. No matter what amount of money you carry in your bank account. I rolled my eyes at the thought referring to you know who.

I asked, clearly confused about the question. "The eye to eye things?" She said, she took a bite from her meat loaf. "Oh, he's my neighbour" I chuckled a little as I picked up my chicken. "Fûck, he's your neighbour? But the way he looks like it's as if he doesn't like you one bit" she said. "Oh, no. I don't think so, maybe he's in a bad mood" I shrug as I took the last bite of my meal. I drank my soda.

That was super tasty. "Yah." She glared at me and reached her hand to slap on my arm but I was fast enough to move away. "Anything for my beautiful neighbour." I winked at her. "Stop calling me neighbour. Who calls his wife a neighbour?" She asked, her brows knitted together in a frown. I took a long breath before I sat on the chair beside her "Don't you think it is better to be my neighbour? Because... Guys... I mean we like neighbours more than our own wives. Not always. Just when our neighbours are females and so pretty as you."
