Ternyata rombongan pasukan VOC itu menyimpan harta karun di sebuah gua. Kyai Rangga yang mengetahu hal itu memutuskan untuk meninggalkan tempat itu untuk melanjutkan tugasnya mengirim surat ke Batavia, dengan pikiran akan kembali setelah tugasnya selesai.
