Every muscle in my body was crying with protectiveness, adrenaline surging with relentless intensity through my system as I battled to restrain him. My heart hammered, knowing with a sudden, intense realization that Cassie had just vanished into the night, driven by possession that could unveil Edward's transgressions. Edward struggled fiercely beneath me, his power a surprise for one so young. "Fool!" he growled, his eyes burning with hatred. "You risked everything for a woman who will end up betraying you."

I refrained myself from turning immediately, but the weight of his gaze was inescapable. “I needed air,” I muttered. “Fresh air.” He stepped closer, his presence a sturdy force. “What happened?” I laughed humorlessly. “Daniel is engaged. He is the mighty prince, I can’t see him that way. » « To me, it seems otherwise, it’s like, lately, you were immersed in your thoughts like you had to be cautious about something. » « Well, it’s not like I don’t want to say but Edward has a special ability that lets him read other minds as long as he wants. »

The man who had just left Twilight to die in the woods seemed trapped in his own thoughts the moment he learned of her identity. The expressions on his face changed from careless to stunned, and then shocked. Kane had never seen his alpha have so many expressions within a few seconds before. To say he was frightened would be a misunderstanding. He had already realised that there was no way Edge was going to let him go easily this time. I will be waiting for those annulment papers!” With trembling fists, Edge turned around to look into nothingness where Twilight had disappeared.

Emelia’s Pov “Wait… What did you just say? Edward was in love with Katherine?!” The man’s lips curled into a bitter sneer, his eyes narrowing like he was savoring my shock, “Not just in love. Edward was obsessed with her. Katherine and Edward grew up together. They were childhood friends, he would follow her everywhere, practically live at her family’s estate. He worshipped the ground she walked on, clung to her shadow. Even as children, everyone saw how unnaturally fixated he was. It wasn’t a crush, it was possession.”
