Dormitory, I woke up screaming, only to find another nightmare, I've been having the same dream for a month straight, it was a dream, but it felt real and scary. My roommate was so distressed by my noise that she unceremoniously scolded me, "I'm so sick of this, I'm going to report you to the apartment, so get ready to move out." I have large birthmarks on my body and face, black and gray marks all over my body, so no one wanted to live with me in the dormitory, they called me a troll. My current roommate, Doris, stayed in the apartment because she was repeating her senior year, and it was the only room I could live in without being subjected to bullying.

I tossed and turned in my bed. I can't sleep because I'm not used to my bed not being soft. Their mattress is very thin here. Everyone even sleeps together. The boys' room is separate from the girls'. Each room has a number to which group you belong. And unfortunately. My groupmate is Rhodora. I don't really bother about her, but she is very annoying in my eyes. I don't fight with her, but she looks at me, as if she wants to stab me with a knife because she's so annoyed with me. Oh my! Whatever!

My head starts to ache every time I stare at it for too long. All around me, students buzz with excitement. They smile, laugh, and walk in groups like they belong here. I tug on my ponytail, feeling out of place and awkward. Okay, Sky. Just make it to the hall, sign in, and you’ll feel better. But what if my dorm mate turns out to be horrible? What if she’s worse than Lamen?

I’ve waited weeks to get this tea. “Urghhh. Worst roommate I’ve had in my entire academy life. That witch turned my room into a battlefield. Constant drama.Good riddance.” Okaaaay? Hailey and Eva were roommates? That explains so much. And maybe… more than roommates? Goddess, it’s like everyone at this academy signed a confidentiality pact. “I’m sorry you had to go through that,” I say softly. “But like—how bad was it that they had to remodel the whole dorm system? Couldn’t they just, like, separate you?”

Andrew agreed. “Do you know what dorm Dante was talking about? I know Dorm A and B are filled to capacity, Dorm C is a women’s dorm, Dorm D is a family dorm, and Dorms E through H aren’t finished. Dorm I is the most complete but still needs some last-minute stuff done.” “Fuck me! Hold on. Can you hand me one of those walkie-talkies?” Andrew asked as he shook his head. I pulled one of our walkie-talkies out of the charging base and handed it to Andrew.

The woman who had seemed to have it all — youth, beauty, ambition — was now a cautionary tale. And still, the question lingered. How? At a 'personal' hang out spot, Sophia sat with her amazing study group — Mira, Zara, Rose, and Claire — sunlight streaming through the windows, textbooks open, but no one reading. The roommates studied together from time to time unless they wanted to go for any specific course relating to their different courses if the need arises. They were the number one gossip team of their entire dorm, though they do it low-key (except for Mira who is VERY loud sometimes if not all the time).

he complained out of the blue and she could feel her face grow red. "Whatever." she hissed. "We can't be and will never be room mates." she said sternly. "Why?" he asked and she looked at him like he said the earth is flat. "Because for one, you're a guy. Two, you're annoying. Three, you're a stalker and four, you just impersonated your sister." she explained counting her fingers as she did. "Let me clear that out for you. One lots of girls have male roommates. Two, I am the list chasing person ever. Three, I'm definitely not stalking you. Fate just have a way of leading me to you." he winked at her and she rolled her eyes.

As we get the students to settle down, I open the list of instructions that everyone needed to follow within the dorms. "So these are your dorms; this is where you'll be staying for the next 3 months. Each room will be occupied by 2 people. There is a strict rule; no boys or girls allowed in each other's room. Every weekend, the cleaners will come in to clean up the room so make sure you don't leave any valuables lying around and make sure that they are kept in the safe locker in one of the cabinets. Any questions?" One of the girls from the back raises her hand up and says, "Are we allowed to choose our roommate?"

Romeo Roommates. Is that what I would call this situation? That was such an odd concept but in a way it did kind of make a lot of sense. Because technically we were mates who would be sleeping in the same room together from now on…. Ok I just realized that that wasn’t fucking funny. It was a terribly corny joke in fact. You know what? I’ll just stop at this point because I was apparently making things so much worse. We were all laying down on the King sized bed that was big enough to fit all of us, but why did it feel like there was still not enough space?

Later, Dorin and Seb made their way to their friends’ table, with Johan in tow. “Thanks for waiting,” Dorin said as they sat down. “By the way, this is our roommate Johan.” Johan harrumphed, sat down at the end of the table and started eating. “Hey, can you tell us what’s up?” Rylie asked Dorin, ignoring Johan. “We heard that you’re part of a special class?” “Yeah, Seb, Johan and I...” said Dorin as he ate his second breakfast that day. “I heard you’re staying at the special rooms at the top of the dorm?” asked Robert.
