“You wouldn’t have heard of it. It’s strictly between heaven, hell and the fallen.” “What’s a fallen?” “It’s someone who used to be an angel in a past life. When they’re resurrected, they’re identified by a specific birth mark. You, my dear, are one of the fallen. You should have a birth mark that’s shaped like a star. It’s in different places for different individuals but your parents found yours on your hipbone.” What the hell. This is way too much information that I wasn’t expecting. I’m essentially in the middle of a holy war, if what she’s saying is the truth.

The 15 year old Ellie was crushed to hear of her father's death sentence, and then crushed again when her prayers to God to save him went unheeded. During this waiting period to die, the father became dismayed as he watched his wife and l daughter fight like cats and dogs again to see which one of them could provide him with the most comfort during his long slow descent to death. Ellie, likely aware of the unfolding events, was absent from work for several days. In the midst of this, Chloe received a call from Ms. Wendy inquiring about the situation. Chloe provided a thorough explanation, but all Ms. Wendy responded with was silence. It was evident that Ms. Wendy, who had played a significant role in Ellie's career development, was deeply disappointed in Ellie’s actions.

Kevin couldn’t say a word and just sat still, with his head bowed down, avoiding Ellie’s gaze which was fixed on him. Ellie was shocked by the revelation and in no time, her strong and resilient spirit got dampened by the revelation. Her hands and legs began to tremble and in no time, she fell to the ground. Tears began to roll down her eyes, which made her let her guard down. She had thought she had overcome her dark past but at that moment, she realized the hurt her perpetrators had caused her, was still fresh in her heart. She cried for some minutes with her heart breaking into pieces at the realization that her granny had died a painful and unjust death. While amid her mourning, Clark sa

“I said, are you sure?” he repeated, his voice cutting through the hum of servers and my own buzzing nerves. His eyes, for the first time, lifted from the intricate guts of the watch to meet mine. There was a flicker of something there, not concern, but a technician’s solemnity. “If I sever this link now, then your AI will never be able to update again. All the new software, all the security patches, all the future optimizations for the XBand will be useless to you. And eventually,” he paused for emphasis, his screwdriver hovering over a tiny, glinting chip no bigger than a pinhead, “your AI will slow down, degrade, and effectively… die. It’ll become a dumb terminal. A relic.”

“Don’t lie to me. Sierra! I can make it up to you!” “You demanded I wait five years for you. I waited five, then another five more—until my dying breath, I waited in vain for your return.
