Valentino shook his head, lowering himself onto the ground, at the table, adjacent to the boy.
"I'll finish this quickly—"
"Take your time," the man sighed, leaning on the table with his elbows. His gaze swept over the books and something unreadable settled in his eyes.
"Looks like you haven't read at all," he murmured, eyes still fixed on the books.
Nathan shut his eyes, wincing internally.
He hadn't open a single book to study since the school resumed, except for when he had assignments.
"I've been busy," he replied, picking up a book and flipping through the pages. He stopped for a moment, scanning through a page, before he scribbled something on a pad of paper.
