Dracula's laughter echoed across the room. Every chuckle was like a crack of thunder, shaking the very foundations of the mansion. "No...no...no," Melissa whispered, her voice barely audible, as she glanced down at her trembling hands. Dracula leaned forward, his breath cold against her ear. "You lose, my dear," he whispered. "Again." The room went dark, and Melissa's world went black. When she came to, she was back in the torture chamber, the pain and the fear still lingering. Dracula stood over her, a cruel smile on his face.

It's been almost a week since she had last seen Darius, she had ignored his warning about not venturing outside her room, she felt bored out of her mind being stuck in one place and one such exploration in this big castle led her to this ginormous library, it was even more impressive than the one Adryan had. While reading a book, she felt the cold wind pick up, causing goosebumps to arise on her skin. It was as if her body and surrounding were warning her about something dangerous present inside the library. the girl yelled, her voice slurred. Drake chuckled darkly. “I want somebody pretty.” Wrapping his arm around her waist, he swiftly disappeared into a secluded corner with her. With a swift motion, he sank his fangs into her neck, his eyes darkening as he fed on her blood. The girl screamed and struggled against his hold, but Drake remained steadfast, draining her until she lay lifeless on the ground, her neck oozing blood. Stepping back, Drake observed his handiwork with a sense of satisfaction. “That wasn’t so bad.”

Alas, her hope was fragile and was soon broken. “Hehe. Where are you off to?” Dracula suddenly turned back and said. He licked his lips like a seasoned pervert as he gazed at Sunflower with greed in his eyes. Her blood was a strong impetus for him, and he couldn’t help but want to savour it.

The tunnel shook. Lena barely managed to keep her footing as she sprinted after Cassian, the book clutched to her chest. The air was thick with dust, the scent of ancient stone splitting apart filling her lungs. Behind them, something rumbled. Moving. Not just the collapse of the chamber—something else. Something alive. Dorian cursed as a chunk of the ceiling cracked and fell, missing him by inches. “This is exactly why we don’t touch cursed books in haunted tombs!”

Eve said. The thought sent me into thinking. What if they are right? Will my sacrifice be in vain? I thought. "Dr Francis, how sure are you about this?" I asked, trying to find something to convince myself to take the risk. "This book is an ancient book written by witches and werewolves. It dates back decades. I found it and kept it, thinking it might become useful someday," Dr Francis said. "I had used the information from this book to treat werewolf cases that ordinary science can't treat. If the book says that is what we must do, I believe that is what we need to do," he explained.

Caitlin dove into the book, scanning through, turning the pages as fast as she could, looking for any mention of vampires, of how to heal or cure one, how to bring one back to normal life. As she began to read, she suddenly slowed down. She went back and read it again. Then again. Her heart started beating with hope. She could tell right away that this book was very different than the others. This, of all the books, felt the most real to her, the most scholarly, the most impartial. It wasn’t filled with hyperbole and myth and wild stories told by grandmothers. This one was written, paradoxically, by a bishop, in the 16th century. She felt as if she were outside of herself, looking down, and she became more and more confused. She read. And read. And read. Finally, it hit her like a lightning bolt: this book, it was hers. Her journal. The journal of a teenage girl. A story of coming of age. Of going back in time. Of falling in love with a man named Caleb. Of having a daughter named Scarlet. Of becoming a vampire. She wondered if she were losing her mind. Was this some sort of practical joke? Some sort of fantasy she’d had as a young girl? What was it doing here? How did her grandmother have it? And why was she only drawn to open it now, at this time?

Tonette replied instead. “Tonette is right. That is what his disciples call him. Then again, some black vampires existed, but only now that they have multiplied their numbers, due to an unexpected event. The book evokes vampires who were long dead, they used it. They aroused a vampire in the middle of the forest, and they didn’t have an idea why that vampire was lying there.” Tonette’s speech was cut short when Dralia interrupted.

I took the book and opened it instinctively, the pages were old and the letters were in a different language but in my eyes the words started to form and translate themselves, how?
