It wasn’t a question. Elara nodded slowly. A deep growl moved through the gathered dragons. Several exchanged uneasy glances. The emerald dragon lowered its head slightly. “Then events are moving faster than we feared.” “What events?” Kael demanded. The dragons ignored him. The black dragon looked only at Elara. “The gates are weakening.” “You keep saying that,” she replied. “What gates?” Silence. Then “The gates between worlds.” The words settled over the clearing like ice. Elara remembered the enormous eye.

Descending slowly through the rift came something absolutely enormous, alive, and terrifyingly ancient. It was a dragon. Its massive body was covered in thick, interlocking scales that absorbed the light like obsidian. Its eyes glowed a predatory, intelligent silver, and massive, glowing containment chains were wrapped tightly around its thick neck, anchoring it to Nyx’s command. The beast unleashed a deafening, sonic roar that shook the very foundation of Blackthorn Kingdom, rattling the glass out of every remaining palace window. Kael stared blankly up at the sky, his mouth hanging slightly open. "...Are you kidding me? We have dragons now? Since when do we fight dragons?"

Drykator readied himself for his descent, he turned to Drago who had just fixed his mini crossbow to his right arm and was slipping the bolt into place and ensuring the wire was connected correctly. “I’m going down to DV, Drago you get that dragon down!” Drykator barked beginning to bounce from one foot to the other, his legs shook violently with fear, he had never tried anything so dangerous, but he knew deep down it was what had to be done. “The Great Divine Victory needs us,” he rallied.

She started but was stopped by the glare from Elena. “Now!” Elena said sternly. Liam also turned to the two dragons and said “I am here with her, both of you take the injured to the safety and alert the silver knights.” With that said though reluctant, both the dragons did as their master’s ordered. As the dragons disappeared into the horizon, the black vortexes overhead began spinning faster, their shapes merging. One by one, they spiralled toward the centre of the broken tomb, colliding with blinding flashes of red and violet lightning. The wind screamed. The very sky seemed to bend inward.

A black giant dragon suddenly and slowly emerged from the other side of the forest. Approaching the scene stealthily. Its rough skin was dark as obsidian and long claws which could cut through steel. Its eyes burn brightly like hot coals and an earth shattering roar left its mouth, its razor sharp talons which could tear through anything. The sight of the dragon sent tremors through the men and they retreat carefully.

He looked it over and smiled at Terry, "Welcome to the Black Dragon guild. I'm glad we were able to add two new members today." Hearing the guild's name, Terry looked slightly offended, "Why is your guild called the black dragon guild? Dragons are much stronger than humans in every way. Aren't you afraid of offending a dragon that might be passing by?" The man chuckled lightly, "Of course, we're not worried about dragons, they never leave their territory, and when they do, it's normally to visit Grancia or Welas. So why would a dragon come here? But I'm sure if a dragon did come here and start causing trouble, all our guild members combined could take it down, so there's no reason to worry."
