I was taking that as a win. I finished the file I was working on and went to grab the next file when I saw a red tag sticking out of one of the files. I pulled it out to see it was a temporary entry request. There had been a few of these since Elias had taken over, but they had all been denied. I had heard that was standard for his operations, so when this one had an approved stamp on I was intrigued. I opened the file and my eyes widened as I saw the name on the front page. Harper Kirby.

“I understand. So, your night is ruined then?” Dillon could feel the urge to tease his best friend. But he still tried to stop himself. “Yes.” Dillon let out a soft chuckle, and if someone might see him, they couldn’t believe that he could laugh and smile. “Her fear is visible in her eyes.” “I see,” Dillon said faintly. Drake pinched the bridge of his nose and massaged his temple. “I see her strong aura on the outside, but she’s weak on the inside. I wonder what her wolf looks like.”

Kirby finally revealed, half-truthfully. "Oh, then I'm glad you are done with it without any casualties." Carrie smiled, then extended her left hand towards Kirby, "I was thinking of ordering dinner, but on second thought, how about we just eat outside?" "Fine by me." Kirby nodded, taking her outstretched palm. Before they left, she glanced towards a direction and asked, "The drawer is always locked. What do you keep in it?" Carrie paused and glanced at the drawer as well. Her gaze fluctuated, but she was quick to come up with a lie, "It's actually nothing you should worry about."

Of course, we're just lowly workers, but he shouldn't treat Mr. Kirby that way!" Edward Kirby had once been the deputy team leader of the core team at Hopeful Faith. He had brought a few of his trusted subordinates over to Well Spring Pharma because Chuck had promised to make him a manager with a substantial pay increase. I rifled through my sketchbook, praying he left me alone like everyone else had. "I know you can draw. It's so beautiful. What's that? " he asked pointing at my newest sketch. I shut the book, sliding it out of his reach. I glared at him, not quite used to anyone disturbing me. He met my gaze coolly. " Ah! Where are my manners? " he said. I mumbled, "probably in your half eaten sandwich". He smiled. "Who knew you had a sense of humour? My name is Matthew. L. Henderson." I rolled my eyes, not caring I was sitting next to the mayor's son. He cocked his head, clearly waiting for me to introduce myself like the lady I wasn't.

“You think Jackie came easily to me the first time?” Kirby laughed. “Yeah, I see your point. But, she’s not an ordinary woman. She’s a Garvey. They’ll dig their heels in and fight to the finish if need be.” “Yeah, but I don’t know,” Nick said. “Just think about it.” Nick nodded. “Now, help me stretch. I want you to spot me on the bars,” Kirby said.

"Wow, you're so talented!" "But who's that?" Claire asked, eyeing the handsome face taking shape. Kia's voice sparkled with excitement. "That's Hayden." Claire was stunned. "Are you for real? Who taught you to draw like this?" Kia beamed. "Chris did., I found him drawing Miss Scott's naked frame" she said Claire's jaw dropped. "Chris draws Miss Scott naked?" Kia nodded, giggling. "He said it's his secret, and he likes her. All her images are in his head; he can draw her with his eyes closed."

Her expression softens as she takes a step closer, her hands clasped in front of her. “My, and what do we have here” She crouches down until she's practically eye level with a beaming Kira. “It's Pinky, from my favourite cartoon. Isn't it pretty?” Kira gushes, holding up the drawing proudly. Lydia studies the drawing, her smile widening. “Nu, razve eto ne chudesno? You have done a wonderful job, Kira” (Well, isn't this just marvellous) Kira grins, “Ava helped me.”

My heart raced faster, seeing another ability: having very sharp hearing, and I remember Connor's attention turning towards the table as soon as he heard his name, and even smiling when Kathy described him as gay, for once more rejecting her.
