Dream Bleeding From Mouth Novels & Stories

My body is drenched in sweat. This is the seventh time in seven days that I've been waking up from the same nightmare. My heart is thumping so violently, every bit of my body vibrates too. I lift a shaky hand to my neck, even though it was just a dream, I still feel the burn of silver. My tongue is so dry and thick, it grates the roof of my mouth as I try to move it around. Everything is dark. Only the bright moon can be seen and it annoys me immensely.

The blood from his wounds dripped out of him and onto me, even into my mouth, filling my lungs while I struggled fruitlessly to get him off me. I awake gasping for air, my hands clawing at my throat. I remained seated on my bed, taking deep, heavy breaths to calm myself down, then I checked to make sure I hadn't woken up Sarah and Camille with my nightmare panic. This dream, or nightmare rather, was the same one I had faced for a while after my family's death, but it had slowly faded away, so I thought I was rid of it but I guess I wasn't.

I tilted my head back and drank deeply, draining half the glass in one long swallow. The water was cool and refreshing as it went down my throat. Normal. Perfectly normal. I set the glass down, about to tell Lyra it was safe, when my throat suddenly constricted. Pain exploded through my chest. Sharp, burning, agonising pain that radiated outward from my stomach. I tried to speak, but instead of words, blood came pouring out of my mouth. I coughed violently, more blood splattering across the table and my clothes. "Damon!" Lyra's scream seemed to come from very far away. "Damon, what's wrong?"

Blood dripped from his split lip, and his breaths were shallow. "Damn, that felt good! Looks like the legend of Mr. James ends here!"

My hands shook as I clutched the edge of the sink, staring down at the impossible mess. Blood. From me. This first blood from last night was from the other part of my body and now it coming out of my mouth, I thought the doctor and nurse treated this already. Why did it transfer to coming out from my mouth. “Jay!” Alex’s voice thundered through the door, urgent now. The handle rattled. “Open the damn door!” But I couldn’t move. Couldn’t answer. All I could do was stare at the crimson streaks and feel terror sink, heavy and merciless, into my chest.

It felt like it slipped away like sand through my fingers. I know I just had a dream, so why can’t I remember anything about it? That’s strange. I tried again, but it was as if a force kept pushing me out of that particular space of my memories. I got up, and walked to the bathroom to wash my face, my head ached. A result of trying to forcefully recall the dream I just had. I bent my face and closed my eyes when I felt Something drop on the sink. I opened my eyes to see a dark red crimson liquid dropping into the sink. I raised my head, and looked in the mirror, I had a nose bleed.

I panted, gripping my sheets tightly with fright. I was trembling all over, teeth chattering in the process. I had this dream almost every night during the week around the full moon. It was why I’d fought so hard to not fall asleep. It was always so real and vivid too, I thought as I looked down, unsurprised to find my clothes stained with flecks and patches of blood. One corner was soaked through. There was blood all over different parts of my body. I had no idea where it came from or what had caused it. It was so frightening and with all the blood on my body, it was hard to argue that it wasn’t real

He swallowed hard, eyes roaming around my face as he opened his mouth to speak. Turns out, I didn’t want to listen to his lies after all. My hand clutching the juice box landed on his face. He stumbled three steps back from the impact, holding his bleeding lip. He regained his balance, but before he could reach for me, the sound of my alarm echoed, waking me up from my dream. Eyes glued at the ceiling, I wonder if this is how dreaming really works, because it fucking sucks.

I breathed, sitting up on my bed. My eyes instantly went to my hands, and they were free of the black veins… meaning that what I thought just happened was only a dream? Or an illusion? Still confused, I tried to move, but that ended up shattering my body into a coughing spree. I coughed so hard that blood filled my mouth—just like in that dream. What the hell was happening? I tried to grab a glass of water to control it, but the cough only got stronger. I violently coughed my way to the ground while my chest burned.
