I dread shutting my eyes because the dream feels like it’s wired in my skull to torment me. For ten years, I have been having the same dream. I’m running looking for something, then I hit a wall. Suddenly there are flashing lights, a screeching sound, and a pin dropping as I fade away into darkness. It never ends, and it runs over and over without changing that I wished I could stop dreaming completely. My only fear is that one day I’m going to lose my cool because of the dream. A tormenting loop that invades my sleep.

Never. And then another bite, and another, mom’s eyes wide, like she was confused. The broken glass cutting her bottom lip so bad that it peeled and hung there and swung, sticking to her chin. She remembered seeing her mom’s gums and bottom row of white teeth because the lip had fallen away. She remembered how the pink had been stabbed by little shards of glass as she opened her mouth wide for another bite of glass.

His expression was unreadable, which scared me more. "I am sorry, I didn't mean to, I don't know if it's true, that the substance is only going to make you sleep and when you wake up you will lose your strength, but lately I have been having bad dreams that, the substance kills you, I watch blood comes out of your mouth, you bled to death, right in front of me, right there, it's not just this time, but so many times and those are the dreams, I have been having lately. I am sorry!!!" I mouthed as tears dropped from my eyes. "I know it's poison, from the juice too when you start this madness of wanting to kill."

he said and ate the bread with hummus. My lips quivered. “You know I don’t remember my parents at all. All these nightmares that I see are in a haze. It’s like I am a part of this scary, hazy, horror movie. This shit needs to go. Why the hell am I dreaming something so gross? I need a break!”

My jaw tightens. Teeth clenching so hard I swear I hear my molars crack. And as my gaze finally lands on the intruder, my stomach sinks. What fresh hell is this now?

If he ever stands in front of a mirror and hates himself the way I sometimes do. I don’t cry anymore. Not really. The tears dried up somewhere between my third rejection email and the night I couldn’t sleep because the apartment was too quiet. But I dream. And in my dreams, we’re back in that shitty walk-up apartment, burning pasta on the stove and laughing until it hurt. Those dreams are the worst kind—sweet and sharp, like a knife wrapped in silk. I wake up from them gasping, aching, and furious all over again.

His fingers cracked as he clawed at the air, like he was ripping open the belly of a beast. He gritted his teeth. “A bit rusty, I see,” Sam hissed. His mouth, lined with fangs, opened unholily wide. The pit below groaned open. The rock walls cracked as debris whirlpooled into the depths. A boulder crashed into the water, turned white-hot, then melted in an instant. I wondered what would happen to me. “You must give dentist's nightmares,” I muttered, cringing as I looked at him. He was truly a vision from Hell.

I laugh nervously. “But…” I take a deep breath and spit the words out before I can change my mind, “I’ve been having these dreams for a while now. When I first started having them I didn’t know you, I hadn’t met you yet and the faces were kind of blurred but as time went by I’ve kept having the dreams and they’ve slowly progressed if that makes sense. I recently realized that I’ve been dreaming about people I know but also don’t know because it was definitely a different time period but I feel like it might be a sign of, like the future because I keep having them and I think it might be… a vision.”

Vomiting a little amount of blood some of his teeth fell out. He didn't expect the teeth but as he inhales more his black long hair detached from his head. He expected it but as he thought that he didn't know what's happening. As one could guess... his conscious went shut down. ------------------------------

Ringing in my ears like the hum of a thousand bees pollinating in summer. Ringing from my teeth clenching as tight as they will go. The grinding of my teeth has worn down my back wisdom teeth. Without my braces in the way and a fresh new clean smile...All I do is clench. I think about everything from the Lending Library carrying many stories to the books I donated to its collection. The very collection I once donated The History of Pirates too. I would travel the sea and let my bullies walk the plank if I were Anne Bonnie. But instead, I clench my jaw at the very thing creating my panic and terror.
