His form glitched, breaking apart into shards of red pixels that evaporated one by one. The ground split beneath me, revealing a vast abyss of white light. The system’s reality began to unravel, lines of code disintegrating into pure energy. I looked up one last time and saw Dream’s image flicker above the collapsing world, faint, fading, but there. His voice whispered through the static, soft and broken. “Gloss… come back…” I reached out toward him, but the light consumed everything. And then, the digital world collapsed in light.

I felt nothing for Jason a long time ago. Without love, what was there to hate? As soon as I finished speaking, I saw his expression change. His lips went pale, and sweat beaded on his forehead. I was just about to get up when my arms and legs went numb all at once. A numbing shock went through me, and the whole room started spinning. Jason's panicked shouting faded as everything faded to black. When I finally woke up, the first thing I saw was a cold white ceiling. The sharp smell of antiseptic stung my nose.

I needed the raw, unyielding power of a full shift to smash the magic dome. To make things worse, my sleep had been completely ruined by a series of relentless nightmares. They were entirely unfamiliar. The faces of the people around me were totally different, and the architecture belonged to another world entirely. In the dreams, a catastrophic fight broke out and the moonclaw relic was violently shattered. I vividly saw the three glowing halves falling through the darkness. Waking up, the heavy message felt loud and clear. It felt like something ancient was begging me to find the relics before time ran out.

His eyes rolled back, and he fell into a deep, immediate sleep. In his nightmare, he stood in an endless void. On each finger of his outstretched hands, he balanced a glowing orb. Each orb contained a swirling galaxy, teeming with life. As he watched, horrified and mesmerized, one orb slipped from his grasp. It didn’t fall; it unmade. The galaxy within winked out of existence without a sound, as if it had never been. A profound, cosmic grief filled him.

I staggered backwards and felt my knees trembled. "Who a-are you? Why are you in my dreams?" I asked, but a teeth suddenly fall from my mouth. "From that moment, I bolted upright from bed. Luckily, I didn't wake you up." "That's a pretty weird dream," Caius said as he inched back to the living room. He sat again at the sofa, still browsing his phone up and down. "Really. Does that even make sense? Ugh," I whined. "It hurts my brain more."

I'd had a dream once. A very bad dream. In this dream, my Pack was in ruins. Our camp was devastated. I returned home from a hunt beside a group of males whom I could not recognize, only to find the ground torched, the tents razed, and all manner of objects littered around the area, broken and abused. A place not only of decimation; but one of supplication. And I beheld the sanguine orgy of corpses and of the pests that fed upon them, fed on rot. The corpses of my Packmates... The bodies of my friends.

My teeth stopped grinding into the rosy fruit once I realized the chewy texture and unsweetened taste did not match the usual crunch-filled juicy bite with sweet and sour flavorings. I glanced down at it. My eyes widened at the horrid maggot-infested heart beating in my hands. I let out a terror-filled scream and dropped the squishy human organ on the ground. More maggots slid out the hole I created when l dug my teeth into what I thought was an apple. I jumped hysterically in fear at the vomit-inducing heart still beating on the ground.

Growling, I feared my teeth to the group coming up to me, just enough time to run to the middle where Bahm was. I closed my eyes and sucked in much air before summing my acidic energy barrier tens times the size I usually do. Hisses and screeching cries were heard, loud snaps accompanied by falling thuds of trees before I felt pained all over. My eyes getting heavy. I hear Kris screaming before I pass out. ******************** “She’s waking, take her.” I feel myself against sticky hot flesh. Sizzling noises heard all around me as well. “Bro! My collar bone is broken!” I heard a whiny voice sing.

The worst outcome would be that I die in my dream and wake up. A low, rough growl grabs my attention, and I spin around. The beast is here. My eyes squeeze shut, and I swallow hard. The beast is coming closer. My hands wrap into fists at my sides. The beast is running. The beast is running towards me—sprinting with pounding steps. I cannot do it, I open my eyes, but it is too late. The beast pounces and digs its long, bent claws into my stomach, tearing through my flesh.

Winter was crying her eyes out like she could feel my pain and maybe she could. “I missed my mum, I saw her in my dreams every night, screaming and begging. The dreams always started the same way. The sound of rain, then the smell, then I feel my head get wet and my mum begins to scream. But just like that day, in that dream, I can not move. My legs are rooted to the ground and my lips are quivering in fear and cold.”
