Everyone shouted, including me. "Language!" I screamed, pinching his wrist.

I turn my face back to the TV, raising the duvet to my nose. I wasn’t scared of entering haunted mansions but horror movies were a big no-no for me. You know what I hate about horror movies is the characters, they always act dumb. Like who goes into a dark shed in the middle of f***ing nowhere at night asking if anyone is there? Like why would you do that? Of course, someone is going to be there and jump at you duh, that’s basic knowledge but I guess characters didn’t get the memo. I would never do something like that, ever. You can never even find me in the middle of nowhere at night.

The next day, I woke up very early, even earlier than Ryan usually wakes up. I had my bath, and I decided to dress according to the theme of the movie I was auditioning for. The name of the movie was Charade. It was a sci-fi thriller, and I was auditioning to be the first female lead. I did not yet know the full details of the story, but I had a little idea.

I say immediately when I see that smirk. His smirk slowly fades. "Why not?" "Because that's what we watch every single time, Liam. How about Dumb and Dumber?" I ask and he purses his lips. "Fine." he says and gets his laptop, setting on the movie. We end up watching the first movie and then the sequel, laughing like two mental people. When the second movie is starting to end, my eyes get heavier and heavier and before I realize it, I'm asleep. I snuggle up to my best friend in sleep and that's how we pass out, with the laptop lit up and fully dressed.

“Right now, we need to unwind.” And just like that, the grief crashes over me again. Charlie. Meredith was right—she touched so many lives. Mine included. She made me feel welcome, like I belonged in these packs. And now she’s gone. I exhale a shaky breath and nod. “Let’s put on a movie. What’d you rent?” “Love Actually, Gladiator, and Meet the Parents,” Jamal calls out. “I love Meet the Parents! That movie is hysterical.” Gregory’s grin is infectious.

I dared Chad to drink out of the toilet and the rule is anyone who fails to do the dare will receive two slaps each from each of us, he had no choice than to do the dare, I felt bad and terrified that whenever it came to his turn I didn't choose dare. One person knows what they are acting out and performs the charade behind everyone trying to guess. The other person does not know, and simply mimics the first person, since they are the only one who can see them.

“Your impeccable IQ is showing, Miss McKinney. Nobody would be brilliant enough to ask a blind woman to give them ideas for photoshoots.” Charlene ignored the sarcasm altogether and grabbed her hand. “I know you can’t see it, but I trust your instincts on these things! After all, you’re the one who was married to Bren first. So, you got to pardon me for being, well…” She feigned timidity. “Inexperienced.” Deirdre pulled her hand out of Charlene’s grip. “Don’t worry. I’m sure you’ll have plenty of experience for your next marriage. Now, if there’s nothing of note to waste my time here, excuse me.”

Charades was Rose's favorite game and given how dramatic she is there is no surprise when she acted the parts out. It got to our turn and I volunteered to act out. Rose let out a dramatic gasp and I glared at her. I never really liked Charades but I was willing to play along today. I picked the word from the top hat. A barista. Easy enough. Well I thought it was easy enough. "I don't get it. Is it a dog? A dancer? A cat then?" Lilian guessed. I shook my head. Was she doing it on purpose? Judging by how serious she was looking I don't think she was messing with me.

Daisy repeated, flat and tired. “Relax,” Johnson said quickly. “We’ll play something. Kill time.” “Kill time,” Chelle echoed softly, like the words felt strange in her mouth. Johnson reached for a dusty box on the shelf and lifted it with a small triumphant grin. “Charades?” Daisy stared at him. He shrugged. “What? It’s either that or we sit in silence and imagine footsteps.” There was a pause. Then Chelle dragged the heel of her hand across her face and nodded. “Fine.”

She told that she mastered the game by playing it online often. We then played dumb charades and it was very fun as Zihan, I, Vidhu and Nandhini teamed up on one side and Other men were on the opposite team. We managed to give them dumbest movie name which they claimed as we were cheating them. We had coffee for the evening while watching Avengers infinity war to brush up the memory before going for the Avengers endgame movie.
