Tony waved his hand right in front of me and I slumped on my chair. "Am I really becoming stupid?" I frowned and his forehead creased. "What are you talking about?" he laughed, mirth in his gaze. "Never in my life have I been called an idiot or dumb and now I am suddenly hearing those things from the people I knew," I bit my lower lip. "People change, some get wiser, others get dumber," he laughed much louder this time. I knew he was just kidding, and he was only making fun of me, but I really was starting to question my brilliance.

He wished for rain which would match his mood but the sky was an unbroken sea of blue save for the band of salmon pink which taunted him. "Point straight blank. My mom used to say I lacked a fundamental trait needed to function as a human being- common sense." Venus laughed her first real one it helped mitigate the building tension in, but only by a fraction. "I'm saying this now, not to give an excuse for all the atrocities I committed. I looked at the diners now turned audience for this Oscar winning performance. I did in fact feel slightly woozy, not all the way drunk and I truly hoped I would remember this. They kept walking backwards the more I stepped towards them. I enjoyed the look in their eyes, the disbelief. Of course who could've thought I was anything but nice, sweet and considerate, stupid synonyms for stupid persons, for fools like myself. I read somewhere that being kind was different from being nice, a nice person always was a fool. I was both nice and kind which equals stupidity.

Fear made intelligent men unbelievably stupid. My assistant tried hard not to smile. “The Baby Shark song made the humiliation worse, sir.” That made me laugh harder, I rubbed my forehead while shaking my head slowly. God. I almost wished I had stayed longer just to watch his face when the music started playing. I could already imagine it perfectly. That idiot probably wanted the earth to open and swallow him whole afterward.
