Cassian dropped to his knees beside Alaric’s body, hands shaking as he pressed them uselessly against a wound that was already beyond healing. Ellie collapsed beside them, tears blinding her as she reached out, fingers brushing her father’s blood. It was warm. Real. Final. Around them, the battle ended. The prophecy had been fulfilled. The blood of Moonstone had been spilled. And the storm— At last— Was over.

Dan shrugged, pulling Jordyn into a tight embrace, whispering sweet nothing in her ear. The battlefield grew silent, and I knew that the war was finally over. The rogues scattered, the remaining enemies surrendering or retreating in defeat. I felt Tay’s warm hand slip into mine, and I turned to see his relieved smile. They dropped to their knees—motionless. Battle froze again. Dante rose, wounded and smiling. “They’re here,” he said. “The prophecy manifests.” I didn’t question fate in that moment. I exchanged a look with Alpha Tristan— We charged Dante together. Steel and magic collided. Rogue cavalry broke ranks. The twins remained on the riverbank—eyes closed. My heart pounded. The world roared. Dante faltered. Alpha Tristan slashed—a blow across his leg. I drove forward. Blade met chest.

The hall erupted, but I didn’t care. I just stood there. “You have to be ready to be Alpha.” He got back up, stronger than I expected. Next, they began to recite words of incantations, and speak in strange languages like they were hypnotized. "We'll know why we're here." The voice of our oldest female alpha spoke up. "We're here to witness the holy matrimony of Aurora Devine Wood and Shane Gledova." Each word that came out of her mouth, was accompanied by dead silence. "As the unite today in holy matrimony, may the moon goddess bless and approve of their union, and give victory to our pack." She prayed. As she spoke, my heart froze in silence. I knew what was going to come next.

“That fire—what exactly did you do, child?” Eve hesitated. “I don’t know. It just… happened. It felt like something inside me broke free.” Silence. Then Damien spoke, his voice unreadable. “It wasn’t normal.” His gaze locked onto the elders. “And I think you all know that.” Garrick exhaled slowly. “There is a prophecy—” Luca snapped. “We’re not going down this road again.” Eve frowned. “What prophecy?” Marisol’s gaze was sharp. “The Blood Moon Prophecy.”

A shockwave of light burst outward, knocking the cloaked figure back through the open windows—straight into the churning storm above the capital. Silence fell. The fires in the distance died. And Elara collapsed. Kael caught her before she hit the ground, his arms wrapping around her trembling body. “Elara—” “I’m fine,” she whispered, but her skin was cold.
