Dune Read-along Novels & Stories

Turning the music off, I grab the lavender and put it in a tiny glass vase, and set it in the center of the long ebony black dining table. Walking out of the conjoined dining room and kitchen I grab my book, my water bottle, and a blanket. I set the water and blanket by the back door that leads to the porch, and the beach a little off, and head back to the kitchen with my book. Of human bondage, by W. Somerset Maugham. The book itself isn't bad, but from my point of view, it's terribly bland. I like more poetic works. But also a hint of darkness. The best example is the poem, In the Desert, by Stephen Crane, from his book The Black Riders and Other Lines. It has a sense of dystopia that I ca

He must have mentioned ‘mating’ to test her loyalty to Dunsmore, or perhaps he was aware of the effect he had on women. “This one should tempt him,” the taller man’s voice drifted over her shoulder, and she felt their eyes studying her. “I doubt anyone’s brought a better offer. Still, he won’t accept, but maybe he’ll pay more.” Their conversation quieted, slipping back into a sparse exchange, their voices even and unstrained despite the strenuous pace. The last glow of sunlight vanished as the moon rose, casting its cool light across the dunes. The chill seeped into Caelia’s bones, her cloak doing little to keep her warm. She tried to tuck herself into a compact ball, pulling her arms and le

I was so over this crap, I just wanted Charlie back in my arms, it was horrible with her being so far away “You are supposed to be my brother, do you not want to help me?” “It’s not that I don’t want to help, I just think we might be falling into a trap” Kayla comes quickly into the office carrying a large book, she looks flustered as she slams the open book down on the table sending bits of dust everywhere and making me cough. Kayla apologises and asks if we have heard about the one to rule them all. I look at Alexander and he looks just as puzzled as me “What do you mean the one to rule them all?”

Hi If anyone is waiting for updates on this book - they will happen, but I have some plans for this book, and this is the second story of the series - Rain and Ashes. I am currently working on the first story, and then I will get back to this one - in a few weeks. No, no need to read the first one to understand this one, but probably some details will make sense if read in order.

It had been ages since I’d bled. “You see? A much greater gift is coming.” I looked up at Thales face, seeing my own emotions reflected back to me in his eyes. I need to be comfortable if I am going to collapse. I pick up a new book to read, it is titled Haunting Adeline and it is a dark romance. I start reading the book to pass the time and about twenty minutes later, “Luna, you were right. Austiin and Cyrus followed him home and when he knocked on the door, a blonde girl opened the door and let him in,” Harlan tells me through our connection.

Sex with Aeon was like a marathon, he never got satisfied with just one round and so was I. I didn’t look at him as I made my way across the beach to where Siera was lounging in one of the beach chairs, a pocketbook raised in hand parallel to her face, but she was obviously not reading but checking the view in front of her. I sat on the chair next to her and faced the direction she was looking at. "What are you reading?" "Huh?" She laid the book on her lap before she looked at me. "Oh, this. Under the Moonlight by Cassandra M."

The sides of his eyes crinkled as he smiled widely. I nodded, whispering, "The fall of Crescent Moon and Haven Spring." The memories came back to me, when Mother first read the book to Dahlia and me, the two of us begging her to read it every night from then, and finally to my first copy, a tattered note that was currently laying inside my suitcase.

We studied the behaviors, accents, and customs of Dune Kingdom mercenaries. Siran taught us hand signals used only in the Dune pits, and Eliza drilled us in desert survival, reminding everyone that heatstroke and dehydration would kill us faster than anything else would. Every night, I shared a quiet moment with her. One night, while the others slept, I found her in the gardens, reading more books about their kingdoms. In order to fit in, she had to study their ways. Infiltration was no joke. “You should sleep,” I murmured.

Thousands of abandoned books rested upon the silent sand. Some were half-buried. Others lay open, their pages completely blank. The woman whispered, "These are all unfinished stories..." The First Reader nodded. "Every story abandoned by its Author eventually arrives here." Adrian stepped onto the cold sand. The moment his foot touched the shore... every abandoned book trembled. One by one... their pages began turning. Not by wind. By recognition. A faint whisper rose from every direction. "Author..." "Please..." "Finish us..." Thousands of voices.
