And that person was Colonel Radian, The Central Government Vice Minister and also known by her nickname, the Eternal Colonel.

The dirty dishes from the last meal were washed meticulously and left to dry on the counter. “Did you find anything new in the dive this time?” Bolt asked while Zen mixed his seasoning. Zen wanted to make something simple for dinner as they had a heavy tea. Fried rice and some soup will do. There was more than enough for everyone later. “There were new things,” Zen admitted, reluctant to reveal too much information about the new features and unique split-path quests he and Damian had discovered. “However, they will not be very useful in the new event. The progress, even with the team, is too slow. The virtual dungeon is more complicated than regular games.”

My fingers curled into fists. “We’re running out of time.” Draven nodded once. “We need to get inside before sunrise.” Darius scanned the walls carefully. “There’s a drainage tunnel under the east side of the compound,” he said. “Used to connect to the old dungeons.” Draven looked at him. “You’re sure?” “Pretty sure.” “That’s not reassuring.” Darius smirked slightly. “When has anything about tonight been reassuring?” I looked back at the packhouse, the towering walls, the guards pacing along the battlements, and the wooden platform rising slowly in the center of the courtyard.

She hated how her thighs clenched together, how slick was already sliding between them, her heat demanding, begging. Evren crossed the space in a blur. He sniffed at her neck, exhaling a hot breath across her pulse. “You’re ripe, little moon.” His tongue darted out, tasting her sweat. “You’re suffering.” “We can ease it,” Dren said, already tossing his shirt aside. “You just have to beg.” Silviya’s breath hitched as Dren pulled something from the satchel at his waist, a smooth obsidian toy etched with runes. A pulse of power came off it, and her body reacted instantly.

XXV –Descent . . . Descent (noun): it can be an action of moving downward, dropping, or falling… or it could be a moral, a social or psychological decline into a specified undesirable state . . . PROSERPINA: Before she and Alastor can go shopping later–does this count as a date?–Proserpina had fully intended to leave the house not too far or for long seeing as she no longer felt that secure ever since they’ve been attacked there) when she returned to the shadows to rest.

I said, my voice already trembling. "You're in one of the powerful kingdoms in this part of the world," he said. "Welcome once again to Ashvil, the kingdom of vampires." As soon as he said that word, my heart froze. I felt my ears ring. Vampires?

I stared at him, offering him a coy smile. He grinned and swam toward me. “Well?” “Well, what?” I teased. “Was it worth it?” he asked. I laughed. “I’m not sure yet.” He reached for me, and I dodged to the left, sparking a game of chase in the water. Khloe and Julia moved away, bobbing up and down in the water about ten feet away while Trent and I played our game of chase. Leia jumped in, swimming around us before Trent gave her a boost to climb back onto the deck.

On the screen, JJ opened the door, and they crept into the dark tunnel. It was on the side of a mountain and they’d had to battle untold numbers of dwarves, werefolk, and magical constructs as they climbed the narrow track through snow and battering winds. “Slow,” Dianna whispered. “Remember the trap.” She didn’t need to whisper. The monsters hiding in the dark on the screen couldn’t hear her voice, but this was a momentous occasion, and it felt only right to whisper.
