The Kind Villain: A Legend of Woof-Woof

The Kind Villain: A Legend of Woof-Woof

I step on another robust branch to draw closer to Acro. I never knew there was an owl nest here. And it's wide enough for me to fit in. I squinted inside and inside I saw a mini box. I sat on the branch, leaving my legs hanging, and I blew the dust from the box which means it had already taken years in this hidden nest. It's a good thing no one found it first.

The Dark Alpha's Pet

The Dark Alpha's Pet

Asher hollowing deep in the back of my mind. “AAHHH!! What the fuck is that!?” Hunter almost falls into me as he backs away from the metal guardrail. I turn and see a large barn owl perched on the metal, completely unaffected by our presents. It was so unusual to see an owl this close up and so random. The colors of the feathers were unusual as well. They vaguely looked familiar for some reason. The owl flapped and preened its autumn color feathers as it continued to stare at each one of us. Its large yellow eyes glow against the moonlight. I breathed in and could faintly smell the most perfect scent in my life. The wonderful smell of spiced cider and orange. My heart raced wildly in my ches

This book should be made into a full on series, a regular book - it’s SO good! I obvs have some editorial comments, but overall it’s a solid world building, great original characters (though all could use a bit more mix of good/bad qualities for a more natural feel). The plot is so good! Recommend!

Property of the Alpha Prince

Property of the Alpha Prince

The gold light dissipated. A disgruntled Hayden called out to the forest at large, "If you could make a portal from the tree all the way to this house, then why didn't you do that before? Why did we walk part of the way?" His yell was answered by a mischievous cackle from Dondus. Cory jumped, her eyes searching for the owl. She spotted him perched on the roof of Grandmother Alma's house. The front door of the house creaked open and out poked Alma.

Wow this book is already pulling me in. I hope they are mates. Love all your books Joanna. In your other books we know they are mates but not in this one. Sprout sounds so cute. I love how this is a different time period and different style of story than your other books. Excited for more

Absolutely loved this journey, this story was so different and creative I loved everything about it. Just the right amount of everything without being to much, I could really see this becoming a movie.

My Own Alpha Reject Me

My Own Alpha Reject Me

she growled when her uncle pulled the bird out of her arms. "Victoria, where did you get them from?" Adom asked, dashing forward to help Damon, being closest to the door. He took the poor tawny owl from Oscar's arms, warning him with a look when he tried to hold onto it. He stared down at the bird when it ruffled its feathers before settling on his wrist, seemingly content to be handled. The barn owl Damon had rescued was doing the same.

"I want to see an owl!" "I'm afraid it would be past your bedtime," Eric said. "But if your mother lets you, I would be happy to have you help me look for the owl." "What's its name?" She asked, eyes wide with curiosity. "Well, it's a barn owl. I haven't exactly given it a pet name, if that's what you mean." Eric laughed lightly, putting a hand on Nova's shoulder as we walked. "How about…Dinah." "Dinah," I said. "Of all names."

My big bad wolf

My big bad wolf

Dawn was approaching when they finally decided to go home, each with a plan in mind to face the challenges of the next day. While Lola and Maya shared their confidences, the owl seemed to watch intently, its large eyes blinking in the darkness of the night. There was something mysterious about the way she kept her gaze fixed on her friends, as if she understood the depth of their words and the strength of their friendship. In a way, her expression seemed like an enigmatic smile, as if she approved of the two young women's determination to face their dilemmas. As Lola and Maya retreated into the house, the owl rose from the roof of the gazebo and, with a soft flapping of wings, flew away, dis

Perer Ford: Diary of a Stranger

Perer Ford: Diary of a Stranger

It was like the tortious sound of a deranged man. The owl reminded me of my time in Aunty Matilda's place. The red sofa with cream soft pillows resting on its waist, the solid gold walls and the smell of purple hibiscuses that never seemed to leave my nose for a second. The owl in Aunty Matilda's house was gentle, cool-headed and compassionate. It knew the right time to come in the night and the right time to leave just after midnight. It came to my room in Aunty Matilda's house for a whole month; the first month that I spent in her house in Anambra. I mourned the day I waited for the owl to come sing in my window with its restless noise but it never showed up. The next day, I made a small b

Mr. Darren's Feisty Little Pet

Mr. Darren's Feisty Little Pet

I still remember vividly one of the nights when I had gone out to get the water for her, there was a Water Well in the vicinity of the orphanage home, and the Well was close to the large tree, under which Mother Lisa normally tells us folktales. After fetching the water to the bucket and covering the Well, I was about to head inside the house when I heard the hooting sound of an owl as it came to stand on top of the well, scaring the wits out of me. The bird stared at me and although scared I did the same out of curiosity. Its wings were spread wide, its feathers were as white as fresh snow, and they shimmered in the night. Its large round eyes, rimmed with black were fixed on me.

I grab some product and run it through the top of his hair, making it stand up straight. “Go check it out,” I tell him. “Avani and Merethyl are building a house on the property. It’s nearly done and when it is, they, their kids, Bajaro, Shiv and their kids will all be moving here permanently.” “There are two hyenas?” Elio asks, coming to sit down in the chair. “No, Shiv is an eagle. Weird fucking mate mark,” Ajax says. “Language,” I say. “Sorry, Kaylani,” he says, grimacing at Elio who chuckles.
