Beyond Redemption
Most of it was nonsense — drawings, fragmented prophecies — but one passage made my stomach knot:
“The Luna marked by shadow and light will bear the heart of the Moon. When it beats, the Forgotten will rise to claim her.”
I stared at the words, feeling the mark on my palm pulse in response. Edward’s gaze snapped to me immediately.
“No,” he said. “Whoever wrote this is wrong.”
“Edward…”
“No, Kora.” His voice was sharp. “I’m not letting anyone take you. Not the Gate, not the Goddess, not the damned forgotten.”
He slammed the book shut, jaw tight, every muscle in his body coiled like a predator ready to strike.
But I wasn’t so sure it was that simple.
