Mom’s question hit like a thunder. Edward coughed, put the fork and knife on the empty plate. He sipped some water. Mom kept watching him and requested him to answer her question through her stare she made. “It’s only a rumor.” He said. “She was my twin brother, Martinez, girlfriend.” Edward explained. “I do hope she’s not a trophy between twin brothers.” Mom sounded cynical and her words made Edward coughing. ‘I guess now I know where Elena inherited her salty tongue.
