Her eyes were red from weeping, and her cherry cheeks were as red as a tomato. Carefully, she brushed the strands of the hair aside, revealing Wimma's facial features for all to see. A few covered their mouths. The guard holding her stiffened slightly, braced for Kyron's reaction. But all of a sudden, Kyron fell silent and then shut his eyes painfully. He looked away, as though the sight of it would blind his eyes. "Take her away," the king said, the bitterness in his voice sharp enough to silence the nearest servants.

As I headed towards the stairs, I saw an older man I’d never seen before, but the resemblance to Kalen was undeniable. “Ah, you must be Alyssa,” the man said, his tone friendly. Okay, so he knew me. “Uh, yeah. I am.” “It’s a pleasure to meet you. I am Rogue King Elijah.” This was the rogue king? I stood there, stunned for a moment. He looked so normal. Like any other man. The woman turns to me with an expressionless face then when she sees my belly she sports a surprised look. "Hello dear. I'm Rosy. Mr Kings said you'd enjoy chocolate milk and some cookies. Would you like something else?" Talk about professional. I roll my eyes. "Can you not talk like that? I'm not Sydney." Rosy smiles a little and gestures for me to sit. I do as she says and eat the cookies then my eyes widen. "Are there more? Gosh, I'd eat this for a year." I say excitedly and Rosy laughs. "We could arrange that. But it wouldn't be healthy, Would it? I giggle and eat some more. "Where did Sydney go to?" I ask after taking the last cookie.

“Where the fuck is Roxy?” I raised my hands in front of my chest, palms out. “Seriously, Ryan, I have absolutely no idea.” He stepped even closer, his bloodshot eyes bored into mine. “Alright then. “Change your mind real quick out there in the dark, didn’t you, princess?” I didn’t answer. I couldn’t. Gabriel stepped up behind me, his massive frame instantly blocking the doorway. His presence seemed to shrink the entire room. “Cut the crap, Roxy,” Gabriel’s deep, gravelly voice cut through the room. “She stays.” Roxy stood up, crossing her arms over her lace bra. She walked over, her eyes raking over my torn blouse and the raw, whiskey-rinsed scrapes on my hands. “She looks like a broken doll, Cerb. She won’t last a single song out there. The brothers will tear her apart.”

Clutching a hand to neck, Draco rasped, “Help….me….the….food….” “Guards!!!” Edrand yelled, going into full-blown panic mode. That call caused the dining room to start teeming with the sentinels and servants. Roga hurried in, eyes bulging when she saw the lord. He looked horrible like a mummified figure. “Get him some water!” Edrand backed again. As soon as the servant returned with water, he snatched it from him and faced Draco, feeding it to him. The pain festered much to their disappointment. And murmurs broke out amongst the sentinels and servants.
