Floor 40 Ryan leaned against the wall. “You know…” He sighed. “If this elevator stops halfway up and the lights go out…” Daniel frowned. “…don’t finish that sentence.” The elevator began to rise.

I said slowly. The elevator shuddered, rising faster now, faster than it should. The numbers climbed levels that didn’t exist on any public schematic. Caelum’s voice crackled in my ear, distorted. “Saph listen to me. That elevator isn’t taking you to an exit.” “I know,” I said, forcing calmly I didn’t feel. “Where is it taking us?” A pause. Then he slowly let go. “Just making sure.” Elyra rubbed her wrist lightly. “You do that a lot.” “Do what?” “Catch me when I almost fall.” Zevarion’s expression remained calm. “You trip more than most people.” She laughed softly. “That’s not true.” The elevator doors opened. They stepped inside. As the elevator moved upward, the small space felt suddenly… very quiet.

Once the elevator reached our floor I stepped inside and pressed the button that goes to the 2nd floor. "Ain't No Mountain High Enough" by Marvin Gaye ft. Tammi Terrell started playing in the background in the elevator. I love this song! I started singing and when I say 'singing' I mean dancing and yelling out the words. No one else was inside the elevator with me, so I wasn't afraid to dance and sing my heart out. If someone else was watching me, it would have been embarrassing. I stopped and looked around in the elevator to see if there were any cameras inside and didn't find any.
