He scrunched his eyebrows, trying to place me. "I'm sorry, but have we met before? You look familiar," his tone was questioning. "No, we haven't," I stated coolly, pulling my hand away as the elevator stopped and the lights flickered. The speakers in the elevator filled the small space. "I'm sorry to inform you, but our elevator seems to have broken down." Suddenly, the elevator abruptly halted, and the lights dimmed down into a soft glow. My heart slams against my ribs. The emergency lights kick in after three seconds, dim red glow from the corners, turning the elevator into a blood-soaked cage.

The carriage beeped; it understood her command. The elevator registered her command, shut the door, and carried her up. She was alone, lifting to the top floor. 7:05 a.m. flashed in digital letters above the doors beside a moving arrow that told Dina the direction the machine took her.
