Elliott sat in the back seat of his sleek black car, his sharp eyes focused on the phone screen as his personal assistant, Lucas, drove them to Sarah’s apartment. The low hum of the engine was the only sound in the car. When they pulled up in front of her building, Elliott didn’t bother stepping out. Instead, he simply typed a short message and sent it. Elliott: I’m outside.

Deborah teased, noticing how Elliot blushed instantly. “Ugh… don’t tease me,” Elliot protested as they all laughed. “Ah… hahaha.” “James, you too?” he asked, hearing his nephew laugh, even though the little boy didn’t understand anything, but found everyone’s faces funny. “So, if the console was for her… does Erika like video games?” Jayden asked. “Yes! She actually likes the same game I do, and sometimes at night, we team up to take down other teams,” Elliot declared excitedly.

Elliott whispered into my ear “Hundred dollars” I scoffed “Two hundred then” he laughed “I don’t need some change” I rolled my eyes “That means you know he is going to get the spot” he went on “He isn’t, does that look like he has touched a ball in his life?” I asked “You seem so sure then bet on it” Elliott said “Alright then, let’s go” I stretched out my hand to him “Two hundred dollars and I get your car the day” he said with a smug smile

“I’m a little rusty.” Cadon shook his head as a few of the others in the back groaned. “However do you come up with such witty jokes so quickly?” he asked, dryly. Elliott shrugged. “It’s what I do. I don’t care if no one else thinks I’m funny. I think I’m funny, and that’s all that matters. The rest of you can either laugh or go to hell.” He drove the SUV through the gate and parked it in front of the closest hangar door. The other two SUVs followed.

Glass in hand, he lowered himself into the chair. "I have to admit, I'm impressed you uncovered all this," Eliott drawled, rolling his glass in his hand. "To be honest, I never took you for a spiritual person. Didn't expect you to buy into all that mumbo-jumbo of shamans and curses. But I guess desperate times do call for desperate measures. He chuckled. "You think I kept the doll?" "Where is it?" I growled through gritted teeth. Eliott lifted the glass to his lips. "Oh, Zephyrus," he sighed, then took a slow, loud sip. "I hate to break your heart. Truly."
